If only the ******* balancing the game weren't clearly biased as **** .
User avatar #3 to #1 - DingoJ (08/21/2013) [-]
the classes are completely balanced, though some combinations are powerful, just how much depends on the individual skill of the player
#158 to #3 - anonymous (08/22/2013) [-]
I can't believe you aren't kidding. No, the classes aren't all perfectly balanced, open your ******* eyes. For example, the Pyro's flamethrower has less than 5 times the DPS compared to the Heavy's minigun, it also has less DPS compared to almost every other non-melee weapon in the game. Justify that.
User avatar #169 to #158 - terowrath **User deleted account** (08/28/2013) [-]
Well, his minigun has a far as hell range and moves pretty quick.
User avatar #28 to #3 - fireemblemrox (08/22/2013) [-]
I think the pyro's a bit on the weak side. :c
User avatar #33 to #28 - Hreidmar (08/22/2013) [-]
It really depends on the situation. In midfights pyros aren't that great and generally our team's (I play highlander competitive) pyro stays near me and whoever I'm healing, just to deter jumpers and scouts/spies. However, in areas which aren't too open, pyros can be scary. The Axtinguisher is a REALLY nasty surprise when you walk around a corner. Also, Soldiers and demos can be unpleasantly surprised by a good pyro.
User avatar #12 to #3 - TheAdolfHitler (08/22/2013) [-]
I disagree.

I personally think the heavy is really overpowered.

When I play as him, it does not take me much effort to capture control points or get a high amount of kills.
#15 to #12 - anonymous (08/22/2013) [-]
You must play on servers where there are no good spies or snipers. Heavies die in seconds if someone knows what they're doing.
User avatar #21 to #15 - Zeigh ONLINE (08/22/2013) [-]
Even after a few minutes of playing you should realize that heavies are just big billboards.
Especially if you get the drop on them.
User avatar #31 to #21 - gorillaztwentyfour (08/22/2013) [-]
agreed, they're bullet magnets on servers with experienced players.
#115 to #31 - rdobet ONLINE (08/22/2013) [-]
Basically the heavy's entire purpose is to just be a bullet magnet. Without a medic he's mostly just there to be a tank. With a medic he's basically a walking target unless the map's really narrow.
#19 to #12 - davidteninch (08/22/2013) [-]
Go against a good solly, he'll just keep popping around corners, draining your health until you die.

Exactly, the only unbalanced part of TF2 are random crits. I hate them so very much..
User avatar #9 to #4 - SirSheepy ONLINE (08/22/2013) [-]
There are plenty of no random crit servers.
User avatar #5 to #4 - DingoJ (08/21/2013) [-]
actually having a little luck play in that can either make or break your life is fun in my opinion, makes sure to keep some extra balance in there too
#89 to #5 - anonymous (08/22/2013) [-]
random crits are more likely if you've been playing well recently.
so it makes the good better.
User avatar #151 to #3 - tehubernation (08/22/2013) [-]
Except for the Mini-sentry.
User avatar #75 to #3 - wliia (08/22/2013) [-]
Which is exactly why you always see 2 pyros 2 engis a spy and a heavy in competitive 6v6?
#111 to #75 - endospore (08/22/2013) [-]
Competitive play is enitrely different. You also don't ever see anything but the base weapons in competitive play, but there are some unlockables clearly better than the base weapons. Tf2 was designed completely for casual play with no competitive scene in mind.

So I just started playing this game yesterday and I usually play as medic. What is the best way to play this class? Should try to heal everyone or stick with one player? I try to heal everyone but it is pretty annoying to heal anyone playing as a scout. They either run around you in circles or run right into battle screaming medic with like ten health and expect me to keep up with them.
#149 to #142 - Mexicandude (08/22/2013) [-]
Move a lot, as a medic you are a prime target for spies and snipers. So jumping around like a spaz and checking behind your back every 30 seconds is crucial for a good medic. Always be aware of your surroundings, spy check whenever you see a suspicious player, look at the kill feed, and wear headphones so you can hear spies de-cloaking or teammates dying to spies. As for the healing try to heal everyone and keep them overhealed in your vincinity. Never go out of your way to heal a lonely scout that is 20 miles into the enemy frontlines, he can find a medpack. Also if you do opt to "pocket a heavy" (aka: follow him around) make sure to heal other players in the vicinity. A healthy team is a winning team.
Also:www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz5BU44_h74 watch his Team Service Announcements and read the descriptions. He gives in depth explanations to common tf2 mistakes and how to avoid them.
User avatar #148 to #142 - bigfriendlyginger (08/22/2013) [-]
in my experience as medic the best thing is to figure out which higher HP damage class player and try to stick to them where possible as keeping the more useful player alive helps push forwards, But its also important in maps with point capturing or payload maps to ensure you are quickly healing people up one by one to keep the team healthy as you push forward. also don't expect scouts to wait around if people are fart-arseing about stick with you're group or heavy/demo/soldier after giving them back a bit of heals.

TL;DR: **** scouts, heal better players or everyone
User avatar #144 to #142 - mrhazzy (08/22/2013) [-]
I try to be an all rounder, But I excel at being the Sniper, then spy, then demo and then pyro.

Just go with what ever feels comfortable.
