Are there ANY good videogame to movie/movie to videogame adaptations.

No, they're all terrible

Yeah, I read the original book of World War Z. Don't bother going to the movie if you have read the book. The producers said they wanted to go by the book, but then got bored.

Shut up man! If Steven king hears this then were going to end up being responsible for a three day horror where you will force yourself not eat drink or use a bathroom because you can't look away!

I remember hearing rumours that they were gonna make a Skulduggery Pleasant movie but it's on hold because Derek Landly doesn't want it to be animated but live action, so they're trying to work on a decent looking skeletal actor/CGI character and stuff.

all I care is that the characters are Irish.

I'm ok when they take some creative liberties. Truth is movie and book are significantly different media, and if they tried to do it EXACTLY like the book it would be too slow paced and wouldn't work great.
I am ok when they make small or even medium changes in the events. But when they fundamentally change characters that I hate (thats why I hate third LOTR, Faramir and Denetor have only passing similarity with the book characters)
But what I hate hate, HATE is when they take a name of the book, few character names and then call it an adaptation.
Starship Troopers has NO similarity to the book. Not even in passing.

I robot - which completely turns the point of Robots from Issac Assimov upside down.

I hate those.

I actually kinda liked Coraline.
They changed a lot but it was still a nice movie. I found it to be entertaining and visually appealing. I read the book as a kid and I was quite satisfied with the adaptation despite the changes.

The same company is actually making a new stop-motion film based off of the book Here Be Monsters called Boxtrolls. I think I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and let them see where they take that book.

If they made a decent series, marketed towards people who read these back in the 90s, not for today's kids, it could be amazing.

Worst book to film adaptation I have ever seen. Hell, even if I hadn't read the book before the film, it was a **** film all on its own. Not only did they get the appearance of one of the main characters (Lestat) wrong, even though what he looks like is described in excruciating detail, they completely removed one of the most important characters (and several ******* others, at that), and ignored the backstory that was supposed to make the plot of this story make sense. They took a decent, well thought out story, and turned it into 2 hours of Aaliyah writhing half naked and setting people on fire. I mean, this book is the third in a series, and they tried to make it a standalone film with no nod whatsoever to the previous stories - it was a ******* disaster.

At least The Hobbit is attempting to do the book justice by making 3 different movies.

This is why I am glad Trudi Canavan or Mark Chadbourn have not been discovered by hollywood.

wouldnt it be cool if we chose the casting for the movie. like they put a list of people that could fill the roll and then we could vote on who we would like to fill it. i feel like that would make the people would are die hard fans happier

yeah that's why i was talking to a friend about the wheel of time series, and i was thinking of like how it would be if it become like a series like game of thrones, and then i realized i just wouldn't trust it, i never watch a movie that has been adapted from a book because it just never lives up to my expectations, i watch it and everything is wrong...because i am a cynical asshole
