So then by making seemingly harmless jokes on the internet about racism (not necessarily with the intention of being hurtful or anything), are we just as guilty and further contributing to the acknowledgement of racism and the typical stereotypes?

The thing about the history of african americans is that it's one of America's greatest sins. It's about awareness of that, not trying to say white people are less important. They've only achieved equal rights a few decades ago, which I assure you is far from ancient history. Those who forget history will repeat it.

But solidarity is important, as Morgan says. We don't want to treat certain ethnic groups special. We don't want ******** accusations of racism because we're too focused on differences and suspicious about ourselves. But we also don't want to forget our follies, and our common ground as people, and repeat them. It's a balancing act.

I have Somalians in my area. If everyone realized that every new immigrant group in the U.S. goes through the same rough patch in finding their place and the same discrimination, THEN they find their prosperity and the ill-will gets forgotten... they they wouldn't be so hostile at them. People forget, and so they commit the same mistake.

Racism will always exist. It's a primitive, instinctual form of thinking that dumb people use to put people into rigid groups. Nobody cares about BHM outside of public places.

"To prevent discrimination, please tell us which of the following ethinicities you believe you belong to:"

But .. if you don't know, you can't discriminate
