Riddick Dark Athena had a mode similar to this. The players had to kill whoever was Riddick while the player as Riddick had to kill all the other players. All while in a pitch black map.

Wii-U

The Stalker could use the bigger pad thingy, while everybody else uses Wiimotes and the TV.

aight so ima say this idea is fantastic and i want to add something mostly because someone made a very good point about there not being a real reason to WANT to play as a human

a progression system for both sides, because games need progression to keep from being dull

and humans should have different classes like a gun priest (good at fighting/defending ghostly/otherworldly monsters but not so good a fighting physical monsters) a hunter ( very proficient at fighting monsters, has multiple techniques to fight against them) i brought op these two for balancing purposes so A. the monsters have to be more strategic and B. the humans are more alluring to play as

i thought about something while i was writing my article the specialist monsters/humans should "think" (the player hears them but no one else does) about their surroundings (like for a hunter he could have a chance to sense a monster and warn the player who could in turn warn his friends over chat) little things like this would make this game more incredible than before....plus im a little obsessed with the fact that a players experience could be GREATLY increased if his/her character would have a way of communicating through the fourth wall

The pulse reader would have to be on the joy pad itself, to stop people putting it on their dicks while playing.

-Weak to light and most weaponry
+Strong in melee combat
+Fills the chat with random distorted voice clips

yeah, they tried something along these lines with left for dead multiplayer, and by along these lines i mean where theres super cool monsters and **** you can play as, and basic humans that try to survive. wanna know how that went over ?

everyone wanted to just be the monsters. and human teams would just hide at spawn or safehouse and kill eachother to end the round and be monsters. nobody enjoyed playing as humans because, who would?

they're developing a game like this on steam except you cant really do anything to stop the player who is the monster, you just have to escape. i just cant remember the name of it. its trying to get votes to have more work put into it

I always thought in games like this it would be a lot more suspenseful if there were a limited number of walkie talkies. So only certain players would be able to communicate with each other across the map and others would only be able to hear each other within a certain range. The players with walkie talkies would then be vital to coordinating group efforts and become a huge target for the monster.
