People saying we're lazy, making up excuses for being not skilled socially... I can't speak for all introverts, but in my case I am genuinely annoyed when somebody is persistent in trying to get me to be part of a conversation that I don't want to take part in. It's not that I'm just entirely horrible in social situations, it's that I also don't like them sometimes, and as the content mentions, the keyword is sometimes.

And what about those who have boundless energy and try to force it on you and then when you actually react to them they can't handle your level so you're forced to retreat again because you leave them in the dust?
I am entirely extroverted but much prefer to be alone for fear of being 100% entertainment and not giving anything of any value. i.e. I have no energy alone (being an extrovert and all) and so when people try to get me to do stuff, I take EVERYTHING from them and typically surpass their previous energy levels =\
So... What's happening there? Introverts with enough stored energy trying to interact with me and then me sapping all that strength away for myself?

Remember kids, you have to treat introverts extra special because they're not like regular people.

This is the stupidest thing I've read today.

I'll admit, I have some of these traits, but this post makes it seem like introverts are magical, delicate, superior beings that choose worthy enough people to give "energy" to. Maybe if it was explained in a much more grounded way, it wouldn't bother me like this.
MFW this looks like something an anti-social teen who thinks they're introverted would say put on Facebook

I'm not bashing introverts, I'm just bashing the way this explained it

Which I get. I understand everything in it, especially the extroversion, but I personally didn't like the way it was explained. Introversion is just one of those things that are hard to classify under, and to me at least, this wasn't the best explanation.

How's this. Extroverts absorb energy from social environments while introverts expell it at social environments. You already knew that. The point they were making in saying that introverts are annoyed by extroverts is that, often times, introverts are oushed into extremely uncomfortable situations by extroverts because that extrovert has the perspective of a dust mite. Imagine someone trying to force you to read Twilight when you've not only already read Twilight, but lnow for a fact you disliked it. That's what an introvert feels when they're constantly forced to go to parties, get drunk, and dance with complete strangers by extroverts every goddamn week.

Saying "inteoverts will find worthy people to share their energy with" is an expansion of that. We HATE those assholes who try to drag us to **** every goddamn week, so we tend to be friendlier with people who DON'T try to do that ****. I know that with me, personally, if I find out you're the type who's a "party animal", I'm not going to make the time to include you in my day. I won't be rude to you, because I'm not an asshole. I just won't make the effort to know you further.

Go ahead, call yourself an introvert already. Whatever it takes for you to rationalize how much you suck at life.

If you seriously believe that the amount of alcohol you can consume directly relates to your "cool" I could still probably "out cool" your amateurish liver under the table.

Or do you seriously believe that everyone who's made a difference in human's short history on this Earth has been an extrovert?

Same here; sometimes I feed off other people's energy and sometimes they drain me no matter what I do.

I am clearly introvert. I go to parties and hang out with my friends, but I often leave before others as I get easily tired in large groups of people, while when I am alone and doing what I like to do alone, I can be up forever.

I don't mind being asked to be social and active and will gladly accept if it isn't fun, but my main idea of fun is sitting quietly in a comfortable spot and working on my computer (as in doing ****, not just dicking around online), and while I don't expect people to understand things I prefer to keep to myself, when someone tells me that they feel sorry for me and volunteer to "help" me when they see me alone I want to throttle their ******* neck.

I confus because I LOVE hanging out with people but I'm always the one giving the most energy so how does that work? Also I can't imagine anyone not feeling exhausted after a lot of social interaction

Introverts don't not like hanging out with people its just that they find it exhausting or at least draining.

I normally have the energy to go out and party with some friends once a week. But getting drunk makes me ******* retarded and I always wake up reminiscing on what an idiot I was. But I guess that's Alcohol for you.

I don't consider myself to be an introvert, but most of these advices still apply to me. It's what I'd call polite behaviour.

Hi

I am an introvert

I understand that I'm an introvert and what that implies

I don't think all extroverts are drunks and party freaks who like to **** everything and do drugs

I even have some extrovertive traits sometimes and understand that labeling myself "introvert" doesn't define me in every possible way

I am a rare specimen indeed
