I'm introverted, and everyone knows it. And if you were a real introvert, you'd know how accurate this actually is. Showing signs of introversion doesn't make you an introvert. I know people who are right at the center.

This post treats the shy and introvered like you're introducing your first cat into your apartment. Yet it's just.... so accurate....
#260 - mikeymikee (07/13/2013) [-]
This is the stupidest thing I've read today.

I'll admit, I have some of these traits, but this post makes it seem like introverts are magical, delicate, superior beings that choose worthy enough people to give "energy" to. Maybe if it was explained in a much more grounded way, it wouldn't bother me like this.
MFW this looks like something an anti-social teen who thinks they're introverted would say put on Facebook

Which I get. I understand everything in it, especially the extroversion, but I personally didn't like the way it was explained. Introversion is just one of those things that are hard to classify under, and to me at least, this wasn't the best explanation.

How's this. Extroverts absorb energy from social environments while introverts expell it at social environments. You already knew that. The point they were making in saying that introverts are annoyed by extroverts is that, often times, introverts are oushed into extremely uncomfortable situations by extroverts because that extrovert has the perspective of a dust mite. Imagine someone trying to force you to read Twilight when you've not only already read Twilight, but lnow for a fact you disliked it. That's what an introvert feels when they're constantly forced to go to parties, get drunk, and dance with complete strangers by extroverts every goddamn week.

Saying "inteoverts will find worthy people to share their energy with" is an expansion of that. We HATE those assholes who try to drag us to **** every goddamn week, so we tend to be friendlier with people who DON'T try to do that **** . I know that with me, personally, if I find out you're the type who's a "party animal", I'm not going to make the time to include you in my day. I won't be rude to you, because I'm not an asshole. I just won't make the effort to know you further.

That was perfect. Thank you.
That was perfect. Thank you.

Go ahead, call yourself an introvert already. Whatever it takes for you to rationalize how much you suck at life.
User avatar #338 to #259 - lolollo (07/13/2013) [-]
If you seriously believe that the amount of alcohol you can consume directly relates to your "cool" I could still probably "out cool" your amateurish liver under the table.

Or do you seriously believe that everyone who's made a difference in human's short history on this Earth has been an extrovert?
User avatar #245 - Eggerz (07/13/2013) [-]
im right in the center. leave me the **** alone, but i will tolerate others being around and talking to me. conundrum i know
#238 - CIS White Male (07/12/2013) [-]
TLDR; If you're an introvert chances are you're a loser.
User avatar #274 to #238 - heartlessrobot ONLINE (07/13/2013) [-]
And extroverts are all annoying douche-nuggets.
#281 to #274 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
That still have more friends than you.
User avatar #283 to #281 - heartlessrobot ONLINE (07/13/2013) [-]
Friends are for people who don't have a good enough imagination.
#263 to #238 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
and this is why anons get a bad rap. its stupid extroverted ********* like yourself that need to extrovert yourselves off a ******* cliff
#256 to #238 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
You've already been told off like a dozen times, go get laid or something.
#236 - CIS White Male (07/12/2013) [-]
This is complete BS.
User avatar #235 - spasticbeaver (07/12/2013) [-]
I wish the people I knew would read this so they could stop bugging me to get out of the house more...
#282 to #235 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
"What assholes, they're trying to make me live a fulfilling life"

grow up.
User avatar #299 to #282 - vatra (07/13/2013) [-]
To an introvert going out of the house ISN'T fulfilling, it is draining. You apparently didn't read the ******* content.
User avatar #284 to #282 - spasticbeaver (07/13/2013) [-]
Thank you, anon, for providing insight on my life. I'll be sure to take it to heart, because, you know, your opinion matters on the internet, but no one else's does.
#231 - icametocomment ONLINE (07/12/2013) [-]
This is amazingly accurate.
#229 - ambiguous **User deleted account** (07/12/2013) [-]
I never thought about it like that but it's surprisingly accurate.

User avatar #243 to #226 - warzon (07/13/2013) [-]
Then there was much bludgeoning.
User avatar #224 - pimpinboobnugget (07/12/2013) [-]
I wish an extrovert would come talk to me.
#217 - CIS White Male (07/12/2013) [-]
I find this introversion **** retarded. I strikes the same tone as fat people complaining about being fat but not doing anything about it. Just ******* learn to talk to people it makes your life much easier.
#242 to #217 - someoneforamoment (07/13/2013) [-]
Well then, why don't you become smart? if extroversion is so easy then being smart should be a piece of cake.

here we have the anon in its natural habitat, notice how as usual it completely misses the point of being in the minority of its position in an argument and says something completely uneducated.
also note how it cowardly hides behind its anonymity.
#285 to #233 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
Note how the friendless loser desperately defends his "IM JUST AN INTROVERT IM SO SPECIAL I DON'T NEED FRIENDS OR A SOCIAL LIFE" excuse with sarcasm and a condescending reaction picture.
#345 to #285 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
Alright, first of all, people are reacting negatively because of your ****** attitude. Try acting more maturely and you can expect better feedback.

Anyway, the introversion / extroversion dichotomy is a fine concept. I'm more tuned to the natural sciences, so I tend to have less faith in "soft studies" such as psychology and sociology. However, they help model people's interactions and organize the complexity of the human psyche in ways that benefit us.

There are extroverted people. And there are introverted people. Some people might have a disposition toward extroversion, but their sociality fails to develop due to social anxiety. There are many different scenarios, so don't oversimplify the issue with your uneducated opinion.

oh look it's another anon with no evidence to back up his claims, fyi i have 79 friends here and many more irl all over the states kid, i don't go out much at all but like to talk with my friends, actual contact with others severely bothers me, so i don't.
>i can see your future though, enjoy!

What is this **** ?
Are introverts like...some new sub species of human?

User avatar #247 to #215 - Eggerz (07/13/2013) [-]
yes we must treat them differently than everyone else. special language, easy movements....y'know, like a caged lion or performing bear.
User avatar #277 to #247 - bslsk (07/13/2013) [-]
That's exactly what I was saying.

It seems to me that there is a special set of instructions that you must follow when associating with an introvert.
User avatar #239 to #215 - supervillanus (07/12/2013) [-]
exactly.
#230 to #215 - icametocomment ONLINE (07/12/2013) [-]
Um, no.
#287 to #230 - CIS White Male (07/13/2013) [-]
So why all the special instructions for interacting with one?
#296 to #287 - icametocomment ONLINE (07/13/2013) [-]
Because introverts and extroverts interact differently.

Am I the only extrovert out here?
Well I guess I'm a hybrid some days I like to spend all day with friends and some days i just want to sit home and I get annoyed when people call me to get over.
User avatar #232 to #208 - popcornqueen (07/12/2013) [-]
Same here; sometimes I feed off other people's energy and sometimes they drain me no matter what I do.
User avatar #209 to #208 - demandred (07/12/2013) [-]
Multivert
User avatar #201 - demandred (07/12/2013) [-]
give me a diagnosis! When i talk to people i talk non-stop (i like to tell myself i'm not that boring to listen to) - and most people find me a rather social chap, but i find being social to other people than my closest friends very exhausting and mostly enjoy the company of myself. Am i introvert or extrovert?
User avatar #210 to #201 - revanmal (07/12/2013) [-]
Both. Pretty much everyone is somewhere in the middle, with both extrovert and introvert aspects of their personality.
User avatar #213 to #210 - demandred (07/12/2013) [-]
so you're saying extrovert and introvert are the extremities that nobody really belong to?
i think i'm extrovert on the outside tho, and idk but i think that's a good thing
#196 - CIS White Male (07/12/2013) [-]
How to get friends if introvert?
User avatar #199 to #196 - demandred (07/12/2013) [-]
1: fill up energy bottle
2: use it on people to become friends with them

it's going to be exhausting, but just might be rewarding!
#191 - CIS White Male (07/12/2013) [-]
this fits me painfully well :/
"they wont spend their precious energy on someone that doesnt want them around"
dat line
