I just learned this recently. In World War one, where the cause of the war was unknown to many soldiers, on Christmas, both sides would get out of their trenches and celebrate with the opposing army. They would play cards with each other, play soccer with each other and socialize. They completely stop fighting and become insta-friends. How beautiful.

One day waiting for the bus, there was a man waiting. He chatted with someone about how he just got out of jail, that he was there a few days and put there wrongfully. He needed to get home and was hoping the bus driver would let him on. Too bad that our bus drivers are completely selfless. I had my money out and ready for him before the bus even came and when the bus driver refused him I gave him the money. This man was in tears and so thankful, all over a $1.65, money I would have just wasted on a soda or junk food anyways. I'm happy to have helped him, whether or not his story was true.

That's great and all, but why is it the american foundation for suicide? shouldn't it be the american foundation against suicide? kind of sends the wrong message...
