Okay...
I know nothing of the deep backstory for the Lord of the Rings.
I hear all these different names of what the characters are.
I didn't know the names of the other two Wizards, the Blues as they are referred to by Gandalf in 'the Hobbit'.
I think it is time for me to get into this stuff. Can anyone more knowledgeable about this stuff give me a good place to start at? I may be out of school, but I am gonna learn! '

Two questions:
#1. Who got the ring after Gandalf sailed away? Aragon, Legolas, Gimli?
#2. Sauron was tought by Aule as you say, but when was he allied with Morgoth? Sometime in Eä?
(And one more, what was before the first age? They speak of "Creating the world in the will of Eru" and stuff like that. But if they helped "creating" the world" they all must have been some kind of demi-God made out of the real Gods themself)

I believe Gandalf just kept his ring, as well as Elrond and Galadriel because after the One Ring was destroyed they lost their power or were just not needed anymore.

Sauron was corrupted by Morgoth either during the first age or sometime before yeah
