gimli originally wanted to go on the journey with his father during "The Hobbit" but his father refused to let him because he felt he was too young to make the journey... he was in his 50's at the time.

I thought saruman was Gandolf's teacher...didn't he say Saruman was the oldest and wisest of them?

We will blot out the sun with our arrows (thumbs ups)! I would have done "...and my axe" but with a green thumb but I couldn't find a good stock pic.

Nice job.

I'd like to hear something about Sméagol in the next one if you feel like it.

Sauron tricked the elves into forging his ring, he didn't forge it himself.

He tricked them into forging every ring except the One Ring which he made himself in Mount Doom, that's why they destroy it by throwing it in Mount Doom

One question.. do these facts come from the other books that Tolkien has written, or what? Because I have only read the LoTR series and it was a long time ago, so I can't remember much.

A fair amount of this is from books like the Silmarillion and the various other ones which deal with goings on in Middle Earth.
