gimli originally wanted to go on the journey with his father during "The Hobbit" but his father refused to let him because he felt he was too young to make the journey... he was in his 50's at the time.

I thought saruman was Gandolf's teacher...didn't he say Saruman was the oldest and wisest of them?

We will blot out the sun with our arrows (thumbs ups)! I would have done "...and my axe" but with a green thumb but I couldn't find a good stock pic.

Sauron tricked the elves into forging his ring, he didn't forge it himself.

He tricked them into forging every ring except the One Ring which he made himself in Mount Doom, that's why they destroy it by throwing it in Mount Doom

Ibeg to differ, you said Sauron created ring(s) with an s, he only created 1. The rest he cheated the elves to make

I was thinking, Saruman the White. Didn't he change name to Saruman the all-colored, or something like that, because he thought that white was the name of beginning, or some **** . He then changed name because all colors are stronger that just white.

Am i totally wrong about this?

IK, but i just searched a little about it, here is what i found:

>> When Gandalf presented Saruman with the discovery and the location of the One Ring, Saruman revealed his desire for it and his secret alliance with Sauron. He had also shed the title of Saruman the White, and had donned a robe of many colors and called himself Saruman of Many Colours. Gandalf said, "I liked white better", and Saruman replied "White! It serves as a beginning. The white page can be overwritten. The white cloth can be dyed, and the white light may be broken." <<

The SIlmarillion my friend. Almost ALL of the origins are in there. It takes place in the lands WEST of The Shire. Lands that all lie broken, beneath the waves. But you won't find the origins of Tom Bombadil anywhere but in Tolkein's Lost Tales, published by his son.
