Every commercial I saw as a kid said no tears as in it won't hurt your eyes. They even went out of their way to show a kid wiping a bunch of lather from his eyes and smiling as they said that part.

When I was little, I had seen the shampoo bottle blinking in the commercials. Now, being 5-6, I was like, "Hell, yes! I want that **** ." Asked mom to get it, she did. Then, my friend Elizabeth and I sat and watched the bottle for at least three hours, just waiting for it to blink.
MFW The commercial lied.

I SWEAR TO GOD THOSE COMMERCIALS SAID "TEAR FREE!" IT DID NOT MEAN "NO TEARS" BECAUSE HAIR DOESN'T TEAR!!!

Go to any comment with a link to the old commercials! It's bound to say "no tears" pronounced as "tears" from your eyes and have a kid washing his face!

Yup this is right. I just looked up an old commercial, it says no tears (as in crying) and shows a kid with shampoo suds over his eyes and wiping them a way without crying
