I washed my iPod, put it in rice for one night and that got most of the moisture but there was still some on the back of the screen so I put it face down on top of the TV to get the rest.
Still works.

Then I dropped it in soup.
Did the same thing, still still works.

As an Asian, I'd take it out of the rice bowl, fix it, then I'll steal it for myself.

I did this with my Sony Vaio laptop. I spilt a glass of water in it, just a little bit.
Btw it's a 15.5 inch laptop "E" series. Bought six of the biggest bags of rice the store had, and it worked.

If anything gets wet take out the battery or unplug it. Water won't hurt electronics if there is no power. Wait at least 3 days to insure there is no small water droplets in between the pins of an ic. It will hurt it later because it will oxidize the older quicker and that isn't good.

I guess I'm lucky because I dropped my iphone in water then took it up and turned it of but it just turned itself on again and again so I let it be on when it dried and now it works just fine
