The sponge thing has been around for a while.

They're used in automotive shops and ships.

Nope, those would still pick up water if they came in contact with one. This is a sponge that literally only picks up oil. Avoiding water completely.

I use them every day dumbass. Water beads up on them, and it doesn't get absorbed.

for the sponge, couldn't we just coat a regular sponge in oil, so that water would be repelled to go in it?

but then what would be the point? this specially made sponge absorbs oil, but not water. would be especially useful at a gas station, or cleaning the greese from dishes

the mars thing is actually old.i recall an old program that talked about how mars was earth like planet with plants and water and all before an asteroid destroyed its "moon" that was keeping the magnetic field on.

How is the cloning one new? Cloning only requires an oocyte (egg cell) and a somatic cell (skin, liver, heart, blood, whatever).

I find it hard to believe that they haven't done it with blood yet when it's just as easy with skin, for example.
