Don't get too excited, it's a type of matter that has been proposed before, they just think they might have found evidence of it. I forget what it is called, but it is made of a single mass of quarks, all the same.

I can only imagine the terrifying ways the zoom lens will be utilized by snipers in the future. Maybe not even need to have a scope on their weapon?

For the contacts, I have a question: Can you where them and change how far they magnify your vision, or do they have to constantly magnify your vision 3x?

but Goddamn! Read that ****. The human race just ******* built eye magnifying glass, and its wonderfully scientific and complex. Its just beautiful. Read it.

>cloning a mouse from single drop of blood

Not too hard. Cloning is a fairly established thing done on bigger, more complex mammals than a mouse, Assuming it was done in the conventional way.
Using a single drop of blood isn't hard at all and relies on a protocol that high school students do.
What would be impressive would be cloning without use of a living embryonic mother.
Gif is my dreams for future cloning potential.

Well, you're correct. By themselves, the contacts act like regular contacts. However, in conjunction with a special pair of glasses or sunglasses based off of 3d glasses, light is diverted to a different, larger ring in the contacts, providing zoom (depending on what part of the glasses you look through) up to 2.8 times.

Does that mean you would have to position the glasses in different ways, cause that sounds extremely inconvenient.

It is. It's very inconvenient. But the technology is cool, and I wouldn't mind having a set of glasses that let me zoom even to one fixed amount.

How is the cloning one new? Cloning only requires an oocyte (egg cell) and a somatic cell (skin, liver, heart, blood, whatever).

I find it hard to believe that they haven't done it with blood yet when it's just as easy with skin, for example.
