Dogs are the superior pet. Forget cats, dogs are better.

People: In case you weren't aware, DJ F4gm1n ****** up the front page. Not only is this a "if it ain't broke don't fix it situation," but allow me to list other issues with it:
- You can't tell what content you've already seen
- There's no titles
- It's unnecessary. This isn't youtube, we don't change good **** for lulz.

If you like it, fine, but if you don't (like the majority of us), tell our delightful overlord to put it back:

dogs don't see in monochrome, there perception of colour is based on blues and yellows so they can't see reds like us humans is all

when people say every year is 7 years for a dog, that's just a relative thing for their life-spans. It doesn't mean 1 year feels like 7 years for a dog. It just means we live 7 times as long as dogs do.

i miss my best friend Roman, he was a gently french mastiff but he was protective and loyal. i rescued him and had him for 8 months before he passed away. he waited til i left for work to pass away. i miss him every day i literally cried for 2 days. i took him out to my parents place dug him a six foot grave buried him and planted a lilac bush beside his grave. i almost carved his name into a granite stone the size of a football. i would trade 20 years of my life for just a few more years with him. great now im bawling

my dog is an asshole, if some random person throws a ball for him, he comes and gives it back. but when I do, his little ******* asshole self runs to it, picks it up , and drops it where he left it. Waiting for me to walk over and pick it up.

Question!
First of all, I've never had anything more than a goldfish as a pet.
In a few years me and my boyfriend are planning on getting a dog, but we'll both be working 8 hours a day, most likely 5 days a week.
Is it okay to leave a dog at home by itself? With proper training of course.
Should you wait until a certain age? Or is a pet sitter always required?

I've never had a dog before and most of my friends don't have one, so I really wouldn't know.
