No, implying you're being an uneducated little white kid with nothing else to be proud of other than you're skincolor, who's also trying to be edgy...
User avatar #60 to #59 - schnizel (07/01/2013) [-]
So what, is that bad.
To care about your race?

No, but being proud over something you haven't done is pretty pathetic...

#80 to #76 - anonymous (07/01/2013) [-]
You should never be ashamed of what you are and you should never be proud over things you haven't accomplished yourself.

If you've done something, you can be proud over it.
You didn't do anything to be white, you were just born that way.

But this makes no sense. If he succeeded, he would have no reason to go back in time to fix these things, which he fixed, so he would never go back to fix them, causing him to go back to fix them, causing him to have no need to go back and fix them.

That depends on your time travel theory. This situation must go by the multiverse theory, in which you can change everything, but it will just create another reality, which you are now in, with no way to go back to the one you left.

change history so in WW1, germany and russia ally and become the biggest baddest superpower in the world
#54 to #50 - gerfox (07/01/2013) [-]
That would be impressing considering all the underlying hate and differences. However, that is clever - then there would be no World War 1 (it won't escalate), no World War 2 (since Hitler never would come to power) and no cold war (probably no communism, since no Lenin in Russia). Since Germany and Russia then would just roll all over Austria-Hungary, and the other parties would never have to involve themselves.
User avatar #115 to #54 - konradkurze (07/01/2013) [-]
well since germany gave some protection to Lenin while he worked against the Tsar....Lenin was grateful and after the revolution he offered alliance to germany, just general von ludendorf who was sent to broker the terms just started demanding tons of **** from lenin so lenin withdrew the offer

shame really, with russia's help and resources combined with germany's efficiency, we could have won ww1, pushed france, britain and italy into corners, and ruled east and west europe

most likely stalin would have still seized power in the east and paul von hindenburg in the west
#116 to #115 - gerfox (07/01/2013) [-]
Hmm, however - one could claim that the war against Austria would be done quickly - but it could have been the starting point of a much longer and more extensive war. Russia had a lot of men, sure - but their army was highly inefficient, and they got beaten down their socks against Germany. The question is if the Germans could have armed the Russians, and actually made some progress on the western front with their help - and one could also claim that the involvement of the US would have been more significant if Germany/Russia/Occupied Austria started an invasion war against France and Britain (rather than a pre-emptive war which was pretty much the case during WW2).

A really interesting scenario

Too bad with Ludendorff then, a decent military commander - but a horrible politician. After all, he did support the Beer Hall Putsch.

And btw. if Germany actually won WW1 (together with Russia), then I reckon Paul von Hindenburg wouldn't have seized power - and Kaizer Wilhelm would have continued to rule... Wouldn't he?
User avatar #118 to #116 - konradkurze (07/01/2013) [-]
well half the reason the russian army was **** was lack of equipment...only half of them had guns and had to wait for men to die to get guns to the next guys
if the russians supplied metal to germany, they could build a ******** of tanks and play the tank rush (like ww2) and nothing would stop them

ludendorf may have supported the beer hall putsch but he didnt take it seriously until halfway through then turned up late and then let some of the captured politicians go and they ended up calling the military to fight the putsch....so ludendorf was the reason the putsch failed

with russia having killed the tsar, it wouldnt be long before germans purged their imperial system......since lenin was communist he would have strengthened the communist party in germany and eventually europe would be communist......
not so hard because on the far west, spain had strong communist elements so france would have been squished between spain and germany and have communist france

which would paradoxically remove your motivation for going back in time and by extension this message.

My thoughts on time travel due to the idea of everything existing simultaneously and time being a higher dimension we are simply travelling through, is that if it is ever done, it already has been done and already will be done, nothing changing. Its the only way to avoid a paradox (barring mention of other universes, because at that point, you are no longer just time travelling).

If you go back in time to change something, shouldn't you already know whether or not it worked?
Or are we going on TimeLord rules where Time can be rewritten, meaning you would not have declared that you were going back to change those things
#23 to #22 - anonymous (07/01/2013) [-]
Time travel is all kinds of messed up. I'm not all that familiar with Doctor Who, but I think you're talking about the grandfather paradox.
User avatar #24 to #23 - Chizypuff ONLINE (07/01/2013) [-]
Nah the doctor who theory is that Time CAN be rewritten, or unwritten. Like if you go back in time and kill yourself, you would never exist. If you went back in time and tried to become your own grandfather then your father never would have had you to begin with. IDK I havent seen that discussed explicitly, just speaking my thoughts
#25 to #24 - anonymous (07/01/2013) [-]
That bit you said about your dad is what I meant. Rewriting history, whatever, but making it so you weren't born is the grandfather paradox. If you weren't born, you couldn't go back and make it so you weren't born, so you will be born, which means you do go back in time, which means you keep yourself from being born, which means you aren't born, and it just goes in circles.
User avatar #26 to #25 - Chizypuff ONLINE (07/01/2013) [-]
haha like i said I dont know exactly how it works, I know what the grandfather paradox is but I dont know what would happen in that situation
