I work at Tim Hortons, and if I ever work at the one in the mall, we have to throw everything out when the mall closes for the night. So sad to see the bags full of delicious goodies.

Can't you just donate them or maybe give it to homeless people?

i work at Randall's, ive brought this up to every single one of my managers and they all say that they don't donate the food cause if someone were to get sick then the company would be responsible regardless of it being a kind gesture to donate and help feed the less fortunate. always that one person ya know

I was at my local gas station late at night and I saw one of the workers putting all these donuts in a bag and I asked them if I could have them...sadly she turned me down

so naturally you waited for him to go back inside afterwards you picked the bag of donuts out of the dumpster and then you ran for it.

Right?

if you go behind a little caesars pizza 15 minutes after closing, you're likely to find a stack of pizzas in the dumpster, still warm and still in the box.

The amount of people commenting on these posts who work at a donut shop is ridiculous.

And Panera is just Dunkin Donuts for rich hipsters.

They are legally forced to throw it away, because of FDA **** . I think that's idiotic, but there's a way. Like, going to the alley and saying... "Hey, homeless guys, the trash in DD'is thrown away at 22:00 and there's a black bag with a red ribbon full with perfectly fine donuts. Just saying".

more or less any place that sell fresh food (bakery do not resell the next day as they there to give fresh goods, so most employers must throw it away after the day . most of them don't care if it thrased or given away for free

one of the best wisdom as a kid close to a bakery

I work at Panera and our closer for the bakery and the closer for the line (where food is made) put any extra bread in giant bags and a charity comes and takes them. This applies to every Panera in the country. Also, any extra paninis are thrown away, so we can take them home. Any time food is made that is never actually given to a customer, it's offered to anyone. And, depending on your manager, most let you take home anything from the bakery before the charity comes.
