For me it always freezes when I'm trying to minimize/close the window. "Oh, you're trying not to get caught? Let me stop and think about that for a while."

My laptop once ran out of battery life mid film... I was done so just left it and went to bed, in the morning i unplugged my earphones and put my laptop on charge, needles to say it was a very awkward moment when it turned on and my mum was in the next room...

Pick up my remote and switch my TV/monitor to TV mode and turn off my tower acting like I've just decided to watch TV.

@ PC: turn off monitor (+ audio device)
@ notebook: pull down screen / close the NB (will also set NB to deactive state, even if system should un-freeze again)

no problem.

Switch it off by the button

Just turn your monitor/speakers off and go watch TV and act like nothing is wrong.

The off switch on my PSU is within arms reach. Hell I would't even have to fully extend my arm to reach it. Ez mode hide button. Though my hardware in the long run might not appreciate it

Here's the ultimate solution...

Press power botton.

Get up and turn away from the computer as you're holding the power button.

Start walking as soon as it's off.

Problem solved.

No one will catch you.

There shouldn't be any suspicion because you're not sitting at an off computer.
