The basis for our currently accepted theory for inheritance was thought of by a monk so if inheritance works then god exist right?

I think people just inherently need something to believe in, some higher power. I think it's pretty natural, it fills an inner need for most people the same way meditation or being with friends might. We don't physically need it, but I would argue maybe some people do need it emotionally or psychologically.

Everyone is different of course.

Not a single civilization in the history of mankind has developed without religion.

It's not religion that developed the civilizations.
It was the increasing brain functionality of those who inhabited it.

That's the definition of agnostic. The belief that you cannot know if there is a god or not. I'm agnostic, so I was just poking fun.

I wonder if this website isn't just a weird social program made to **** with the few real humans on here.

For example: if I agreed/disagreed with this post to the extreme, insulting the other side, I would be crucified

if I agreed with either side in a calmly manner, or insulted the poster for disrespecting someone's views, or said how I think the whole argument is pointless, I would shower in greens.

Yet most humans will up the opinions they agree with and down with the others, as this is legitimately a topic that will bring emotion. It's not an argument people are rational in, so the rational answers aren't going to get preference.

It's rather humorous that people actually think that the person posting the question is serious, and that he definitely isn't asking that to make religious people look bad.

Well, first of all, Atheism isn't a religious belief system. It's the complete lack of one. You can't compare the two.

Second, why are you only mentioning Christians? What about Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Norse mythology, Ancient Greek mythology, Ancient Egyptian mythology, Ancient Bulgarian mythology and so on and so forth? They're all equal in the fact that they're ********.

Intentional disbelief in something is still a belief all its own. Atheism is a specific belief concerning spiritual matters. It is a faith in the absolute infallibility of the hypotheses which claims that "GOD is impossible". The atheist bets his/her soul and the potential of eternity on this faith. Emotions and wishes are a large part of the decision to choose to be atheist.

The reason why i stated just one religion is because I am not going to waste my time naming every single religion known to mankind, and yes they are all equal but they're not ********, I respect all religions and by the way i never stated Atheism as a Religious belief, In my first statement I called A Belief . Belief is not a a sole word related to Religion it means something that somebody believes in: a statement, principle, or doctrine that a person or group accepts as true.

If you give credence of possibility to any developed religious belief (whether or not there is reason to believe in it), then there are far more possibilities than just these four.

www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2008/02/11/gods-we-dont-believe-in/

By the logic of "worship me or go to hell" alone, (ethics excluded from determination of salvation, as this is often not constantly shared among all religious people of any one sect), and the great wizardry that is probability, 99.9% of the population is going to some hell.

I think he was, but from what I know about Buddhism, it's more of a spirituality/lifestyle than a religion persay. Based on what I've been told it is based on spiritual enlightenment of the individual instead of following a god.
