Hey, look buddy. I'm an engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like, "What is beauty?," because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy.

I don't mind fat people but I hate it when they try to blame it on something like genetics or their metabolism.

Whilst in some cases there is a legitimate medical reason for abnormal fat cell growth or whatever, blaming society or whatever for treating you unfairly is not an excuse - you're just lazy.

You are the result of 4 billion years of evolutionary success. ******* act like it.

I work hard for my body. I eat right, I exercise, and I take care of myself. Is it wrong to want a partner who does the same thing?

Not at all man (or woman), not at all. It'd only be hypocritical and shallow of you if you held those expectations but do not do the same.

you can do whatever you like but if you're fat don't try and convince me that it's okay and you're beautiful because I'm not attracted to that **** , don't try and make me look like a dick because you can't harness the power of self control and putting your feet to the ground in an effort to burn off the hundred doughnuts you tell yourself you deserve

I often live by the "my body, my choice philosophy but I still have the rights to my own personal opinion and I shouldn't have to be slated as some shallow asshole just because I don't find fat attractive.

Or, you know, let everyone look however the **** they want, and, you know, let people call whoever the **** they want beautiful.

The problem is a lot of the fat people who think being fat is beauty also like to call anyone less than them ugly, or say they have no meat on their bones, or things like that.

You know what i really hate, people thinking a girl must be skinny in order to be beautiful. Curvy girls do got meat.....in all the right places. How can you not love 'em.

Yeah... because calling people with more than 2 percent body fat "beautiful"... or even human... in this culture is SUCH an epidemic.

Believe it or not, it's the next social justice thing.

I was a fairly large kid, 230 lbs going into Gr 9. I have a couple health issues and i never really thought i would be in great shape. I just made the decision to lift one day and never looked back. I dropped down to 170 lbs in under a year through hard work and diet. And since then i've gained about 10 lbs of muscle. I know not everyone can get the same results but sitting on your ass is only doing the opposite. Even if you can't seem to lose more than 20 lbs that's still an accomplishment and should be taken as a sign to push even harder.

When you're in love with someone, you see every little thing about them as beautiful, their voice, their looks, and when they say they're self-conscious about something, you get so confused as to why they would think that about themselves. You just want to hold them by the shoulders and tell them right to their face "You're beautiful, don't ever think otherwise."

This is how I feel when talking to my long-distance boyfriend.
User avatar #363 - gravitystereo (06/15/2013) [-]
people who are like "everybody is beautiful and we should all treat them equally!" is just making it worse by pointing out that they're treated differently

It really brightens up my day when there are so many strangers on the internet making fun of delusional fatties.

we're an ugly people, I admit it.

Most people prefer a skinny girl and that is a fact, so since only a minority would find a obese girl attractive, i can conclude they are in fact not beautiful.
User avatar #227 to #201 - zorororonoa (06/15/2013) [-]
People who call them beautiful most likely do it out of pity. I doubt many people who call them beautiful actually think they are beautiful, they just want the fatties to feel better about themselves.

Well, you know... we could also stop calling these annorexic skeletons, a.k.a "models" beautiful.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Can't we each have our own idea of what is beautiful and leave it at that?
Let the fatties be fatties if they want to, unless they sit on you or something I doubt it directly has an affect on your life. It's their choice, and it's yours too if you aren't attracted to it.

I don't know what exactly this content is aiming to say, but the only way I can agree with "stop calling fat people beautiful" is if it's referring to the fact that, when bullied for being fat, people will call those that are overweight "beautiful," which moreso means "you're a beautiful person," but people are confusing this with "you are beautiful because you're fat."
User avatar #94 - Loppytaffy (06/15/2013) [-]
I think we need to find the balance; there are some curvy girls who would be called fat, and be under the mistaken impression that being anorexic is more desirable.

A fat person, or obese person, can be beautiful. Their unhealthy fat is not what makes the beautiful, it makes them more likely to die at an early age of a heart attack. I've seen plenty of decent to good looking fat people, but they would look a lot better if they lost some weight.
