And so the story continues, harry lives with only one Goal to become mortal again and for that he is prepared to sacrifice the good in him. Harry becomes evil and his son must stop him.

I really like this idea, and it probably would have made a better ending, but I don't think the prophecy really allowed for that. It was "either must die at the hand of the other." The "either" very specifically denotes that only one of them would die at the hand of the other, thus negating the "I can't die" scenario. Plus it's a childrens book, and she already killed Fred and countless others. I think she had to end with "All was well"

I was really disappointed when I finished the book. The ending was very simple and predictable.
"So he killed Voldemort and tada? He bangs Ginny. and 'All was well'?"

There was such potential for a heart-wrenching and well-earned ending.
Although I don't honestly know if my heart could have taken anymore.

<---Kind of like this poor beastman. He was granted immortality and his body heals at a rate that he can't die from wounds (as opposed to age), all to tell the tale of his old king. He wanted the immortality to be more on par with his rival, whose death wouldn't even reach him for a long while (I haven't seen the show for months, so when he found out is beyond my recollection) but even the reason wasn't his. Him being a beastman means that he cannot reproduce, and it was shown that his most wanted wish was to have a family and live in peace.

He has to live forever, keeping all that in mind, as he watches his friends die.
And some people say the anime has no depth and is just about giant robots fighting.

Oh, so calling it deep is too cliche? That's true, but I'm not sure exactly what to call it if it's not "deep." I should look up a synonym for that or something.

So what? People get all butthurt if something comes off as pretentious and use that as the only reason it's bad while ignoring the actual piece. If it's really good, who cares if it's pretentious, it's incredibly ironic that people will turn their nose up and scoff at something because they find it pretentious.

They're not going to watch it because they'll think it's pretentious as ****. That's the point. They won't even know if it's good. It's better not to call anime deep so this doesn't happen.

"They" need to get their head out of their ass. If you refuse to watch something that someone has called deep because your choosing to label it as pretentious, you yourself are being pretentious. People are too ******* picky about what they watch and act like they are some professional critic with whatever they do watch, just ******* watch it if the plot looks like it might interest you. If you like it, great, talk about it with someone else who does also, if you don't, keep your mouth shut and move on to something else.

Uhuh, yeah, sure.

And you still do not know what pretentious means.

Pretentious - adjective - Attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed.

Now, let's put this definition into your sentence. "'They' need to get their head out of their ass. If you refuse to watch something that someone has called deep because your choosing to label it as pretentious, you yourself are attempting to impress greater importance, talent, culture, etc."

That doesn't make sense.

It's because the person is trying to act like they are above a piece of work when they have never even seen it. Or they have seen it and act as if their critique has any merit at all, and that anyone who has found it to be deep or has enjoyed it is wrong in doing so when in reality they are just another idiot with an opinion that matters just as little as everyone else's. And while initially I was using "you" as a generalization, the assortment of unnecessary pictures with scoffing girls alongside all your posts has me beginning to think it was a Freudian slip rather than an honest mistake that lead to a misunderstanding.

I think I watched some of Angel Beats, but just either got bored or too busy... And I never heard of Spice and Wolf

What I liked about Viral's story is how the show makes it something you have to discover on your own. It's almost just hinted at. Like, when it's revealed that he's immortal, it's only shown again when his hand is cut in the fight in the jail, but it doesn't go into it much more than that. Then his dream is only shown for like 15 seconds before he goes off, and there's no words other than him saying "so it was all a dream, after all" or something like that. His suffering is pretty much implied and only strikes you when you over think things like I tend to do since he doesn't show the remorse.

YES! I've never heard of Viral, but I'll have to watch it because that sounds like an amazing story. A story that can show and not tell but still get a point across is doing it right. It's the same thing Dark Souls did (which made it amazing) and I'm sure it could work with most other stories that want to get deep. I love it when they actually make you think about the emotions and situations rather than hold your hand through absolutely everything.

Yes, he's the anti-hero of the series! (I'll just leave it there, as I've already spoiled a TON)

I guess it just hasn't struck me that some people haven't seen it yet... But it's just one of those anime that is so over the top in the perfect way and has a terrific plot line and great character development with only about 2-3 episodes that are bad (trust me, you'll dislike them, but just sit through them to move through the story)

Then the second movie shows an alternate ending that is EPIC! (the first movie is an alternate to the first half of the series, while the second is the second half done differently)

...I just finished an anime called Baki the Grappler, which left me sad. Not because of intended reasons, but because I'm pretty sure it's left incomplete. I'm sure the manga is finished, but I doubt that the anime stayed too true to it, and I don't want to bother finding which chapter the show left off on, but it was so close to what could have been the end and just stopped. Other than that, it was a good fighting anime, but nothing more (not much else was going for it).

Oh, yeah. You're in the void. It's like after I just finished Dark Souls. You've probably been there before. I think we all have.

No, I'm not in the void.
I've been there several times (I think I was knocked into a void-induced coma after Clannad for a month) and this definitely is not it.
I'm sad because I'm disappointed in the series. It had so much going for it for what it was, and it had 50ish episodes building up to a fight between a father and his son and then...

It ended.

He just said "Yeah, I'm done" after one fight, and I was like "dude, your father - no, your biggest enemy - is in the other room, and you just have to wait for your wounds to heal to fight him to the death!" But no! It just ends! Then I look at the last chapter of the manga's cover page and it shows the father fighting him, so I just gave up.

Well the idea was that either of them could have been the chosen one when they were born (on the same day), but by Voldemort killing Harry's parents and marking him, he made him the chosen one. And that the awesome stuff Neville did was just residual potential from him having could have been the chosen one.
