And so the story continues, harry lives with only one Goal to become mortal again and for that he is prepared to sacrifice the good in him. Harry becomes evil and his son must stop him.

-You either die a hero or you live long enough to see your self become the villain.

I liked J.K Rowling's ending better. And this post is not your own work OP.

I really like this idea, and it probably would have made a better ending, but I don't think the prophecy really allowed for that. It was "either must die at the hand of the other." The "either" very specifically denotes that only one of them would die at the hand of the other, thus negating the "I can't die" scenario. Plus it's a childrens book, and she already killed Fred and countless others. I think she had to end with "All was well"

I was really disappointed when I finished the book. The ending was very simple and predictable.
"So he killed Voldemort and tada? He bangs Ginny. and 'All was well'?"

There was such potential for a heart-wrenching and well-earned ending.
Although I don't honestly know if my heart could have taken anymore.

<---Kind of like this poor beastman. He was granted immortality and his body heals at a rate that he can't die from wounds (as opposed to age), all to tell the tale of his old king. He wanted the immortality to be more on par with his rival, whose death wouldn't even reach him for a long while (I haven't seen the show for months, so when he found out is beyond my recollection) but even the reason wasn't his. Him being a beastman means that he cannot reproduce, and it was shown that his most wanted wish was to have a family and live in peace.

He has to live forever, keeping all that in mind, as he watches his friends die.
And some people say the anime has no depth and is just about giant robots fighting.

Prophecies are just fortunes of the future, they can't grant immortality.

that is great. and sad. and great.
And we never hear that he dies, so maybe he finds out about his immortality after the ending. oh god that makes me sad

I wish the movies and books had more dragons and maybe dragoons.

My brothers and I were discussing the ending as well, and we figured it would have been a rather heart breaking but good ending if he suddenly woke up, back in the cupboard under the stairs, an 11 year old orphan boy abused by his cousin, aunt and uncle.

no, that would have been a terrible "twist" ending

Woah. This is the most wicked thing ever. And i think, OP, if this is yours, we better make a way for J.K. Rowling to know about this, well, maybe she'll change her mind and make this into another book.

Just because Harry fulfilled the prophecy does not mean it is no longer in action. The only hole in the alternate ending would be after he has control of all three deathly hallows, as in the folk story, he has become the master of death. Since he is the master of death, that means he should be able to die or live as he pleases so he would have the choice to live as long as he would want or die if he so desired. This is a nice idea though.
