Why didn't Harry just buy a gun and shoot Voldemort with it?

I still agree the movies should be about the scientist wizard

Harry himself is a horcrux, the only way voldemort could've been killed is to destroy all the horcrux's which included Harry. He would have had to die no matter what. Nice try though mate, was a good idea.

But technically, he does die by the hand of Voldemort. But gets resurrected. And then he kills voldemort. So technically, his immortality is null due to his previous death at the hand of voldemort. So he can die like a mortal and be with his loved ones.

One problem. Either does not mean each or both, it just means either one or the other. So all the prophecy is saying is that one of them will die at the hand of the other.

...and then we decapitate him and put his head in a jar filled with liquid and put him on Futurama with the other Boys Who Lived

I recently had the interesting thought of an alternate ending, where it turns out this entire time Harry had been born a Squib, and all of his magical powers were from the fragment of Voldemort's soul that had been in his body.

Thought it'd have a lot of interesting implications/results.

As for the actual content, it does seem interesting, but at the same time I really prefer the canon ending, because I felt one of the biggest messages of the series is having the strength to accept death as inevitable. I feel like an ending like this would have confused or erased that message, but that's just my opinion on that.

Technically this is disproved by Harry being the descendant of the brother who walk with death as a friend because that was kinda implied. It seems I'm the only here thinking this.

Ah I like this ending and the true ending.

Harry has always been about sacrifice, and this would be the ultimate sacrifice.
