Yes, rape happens, and yes, many women do not report it, but where are the statistics for male rape (not prison time **** , I mean men being sexually assaulted by women). Men can be raped, and that fact gets passed over many times in this whole debacle over rape victims and cases. Just because the majority of rapes happen to women doesn't mean a woman can't drug a man, abduct him, bind him, and rape him.

tl; dr: the rape train goes two ways, lads and lasses.

I go to Duquesne, for those of you that don't know, all these schools are literally down the street from each other. I know for a fact at Pitt those rapes happened at a Frat house. and a few of these were serial rapists...just adding to the rape culture ********

Raped BY THE TIME they go to college.
Not while IN college (which is what you reported).
So during their college years, that many was reported. Leads me to point 2.
Secondly, not all rapes go reported.
Thirdly, the number of women being molested is even higher, 1 in 3 I hear. 1 in 3 females are molested by the time they reach the age of 22 (or somewhere in late teens/early twenties).
Most of it is unreported though.
This post makes me sick.
I don't mind jokes about women, but this is wrong and actually trying to play it off as fact, and that's not cool.

those are some white sounding colleges, rape at a black/mexican college would end in someone getting murdered...

Obviously the number isn't that high. Still, rape occurs and is a serious issue. Also, unfortunately a lot of victims remain silent, a lot of studies find that it's actually the majority that remains silent. It's a serious issue, no matter how high or low the numbers.

1 in 4?

Wow, I really need to step up my work.

Actually, realistically 1 in 4 is correct. My first week at college, we had to do a scavenger hunt in our library, one of the clues was found on a DVD about rape and sexual assault. It stated the 1 in 4 idea, and I was curious because I thought that was too high, so I researched it. But according to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network, it's true. I found out later that of all four of the girls living in my dorm suite that year, one of them was raped. I found this to be consistent for every suite in on my hall. Also according to RAINN, 54% of rape victims never report their claims for all of the reasons everyone has already stated, but the main reason is the fear that their attacker will come back and punish them if they attempt to report it. You see, it is extremely difficult to prove that you've been raped, so only about 97% of rapists will ever spend a day in jail. That's probably why only about 300,000 women and 93,000 men are raped each year.

Not sure how it is in college, but being a young E-3 in the Air Force, I've seen a lot of issues with rape. Basically, everyone gets wasted at parties, girls and guys go home together, Get jiggy with it, and then a week later there is a court marshall for rape claims. I guess it's a women airmen's way of saying "Nah, nevermind, wasn't really feelin it." When most of the time it was the women who were making the moves.

TL;DR- some girls are vicious in the Air Force.

Okay sure a lot of them are not reported but Add 100 to the number of reports. The 1 in 4 statistic is still bull **** .

Why is rape such a sensitive subject
Why do feminists think ALL men have raped or will rape a girl?
Rape is only such a big deal because feminists keep bringing it up with ******** claims and then accuse men for bringing it up.
For that matter most instances of rape are either women regretting what they had done, or women making some guy's life hell with untrue stories.

"Not all rapes are reported." Impossible to know how many rapes are unreported. It could be zero. It could be every woman on earth. This assertion means nothing, as it's not quantifiable, therefore it's not applicable to a discussion on the statistics of rape.

Also, if the prison rape statistic was included, more men than women would be raped every year in America.....
User avatar #160 - chuffberry (06/13/2013) [-]
i think the "1 in 4" thing comes from the fact that if the girl is impaired in any way (like, if they've had a sip of alcohol), they call it rape. these kinds of "rapes" almost never get reported, but they're still put in the statistic

Alot of Rapes go unreported though. These people get scared, and often think their attackers might do more if they report it. 1 in 4 is pretty stupid, but a lot go unreported.

The funny thing is about the "rape culture" is that when looking at statistics of the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australlia etc. The number is much lower than their claims while all the rape from our vile culture magically occurs in corrupt African countries. This is all because our magically evil rape culture makes it so rapists are magically all born in countries like Nigeria and influenced by evil raping westerners to be rapists while the evil "rape culture" dosen't actually rape. They use statistics from 1 country to talk about how a different country is evil, yep makes sense
