My pooltable is slate and I wouldnt do that because what if by some unfortunate means It cracks the slate
Not likely but what if it does
It would be expensive as **** for them to redo my pooltable

Unless your table is made of 1/4" slate, Dropping a bowling ball from a greater height would not damage it...
