Why not buy a Alienware small tower, or another small powerful tower, they're not much bigger than the old xbox's, you can take them mates if you want, and game, mod, go on the internet and do much more cheaper. Sure it'll cost £1000 not £400, but what you'd spend on a laptop or computer anyway you don't need

Most people don't want to build one, I was just thinking of a generic produced thing that you could sell the the masses. With sense and some research you could build a really good small tower, for rather cheap

Hmm, fair enough, I did say other powerful tower, the main point of saying alienware is although expensive, it's easier, and most people would just rather go down to argos where you can get one, then do stuff like that.

Well if they make over 100$/hour, then it's sensible choice to not waste time. Otherwise, it's better to do some research and buy the same hardware for two thirds the price.

So my mother wants to buy a decent pc for my little sis, she won't build it, she'd buy it from argos. And geeze $100 an hour? They're only like £1000 in Britain, for a decent pc that's pretty ok

I bought dell from britain for 500 pounds five years ago. Won't run the newest game in highest resolution now, but still, pretty decent compy. 600 pounds PC lil' sis bought few days ago runs Metro Last Light on the highest settings with 60 fps.

But I guess you are wealthy enough to afford not to shop around.

Not really, no need to be a cunt about it. Just saying, Small, cheap, powerful, in the argos catalog: Alienware. My mother won't buy stuff online, and doesn't know where to shop.

I get your point of a walk in and buy product, but not only is it it cheaper, its fairly easy to build your own computer what with all the guides and youtube. Also its a useful skill.

Yeah, I'd much rather build my own. Tell my mother to build one, or go down to argos and pick up a decent one for more, she'd go argos. I'm talking about mass product, not everyone will want to build their own. Which is kinda dumb "You can either buy flat packed furniture, which is better for £300, or get the worse stuff arranged for £700"

Nice, all my mates have spare tv's, my friend is getting a small alienware (because he doesn't have the time or patience to build one), and he'll bring it over. With the way pc's are now, they aren't all huge towers, you can pick it up, shove it in a packback and take it to a friends, most tv's are compatible with them too, I plug my laptop (poorfag, only cost me £130, bios, 2.4ghz and 2-8gb ram, nvidia graphics ) into my tv all the time, so much better than just a console.

I was saying that. But I really love Console gaming. I don't know why, but I love it. I wasn't bought up a PC gamer, I was bought up a Console gamer - and I love it. Plus I don't have much money. Also - I really want to play the new inFamous game...

I've never understood this...Why do people say they don't have enough money for a gaming PC? Almost all those who buy a console also buy a weak computer or laptop. Instead of spending the money on both of those you could buy a decent PC.

When I bought my PS3, it was £299. When I got my laptop (2 years before) It was about £70. £370 is enough for a good gaming PC.

That's about 560 USD. A little less than the price I spent on a PC two years ago that can play Bioshock Infinite on Ultra today with no upgrades.

Not really related - but Bioshock Infinite was a very good game.

Premade ones are pretty expensive, but if you buy smart it isn't that hard. Hell, what I did was I bought a cheap PC then swapped out the parts that weren't good for gaming and popped in what I wanted. All for about 600 bucks. I bought a 1.5tb HDD later and swapped out the RAM(not an upgrade, just had a problem with it) but RAM is dirt cheap. Forgot about that.

Plus games are cheap as **** for PC.

That was what I was going to do with my current laptop. I got 4 GB of Ram for this old thing, then I just need a new Processor and a Graphics card that can fit this piece of crap. I'm probably still going to game on my consoles, but play things like TF2 and Counterstrike on here.

Games are cheap as ****? Yeah - Free is pretty cool aswell. Which is an idea I always enjoyed about PC gaming, the idea you can pirate Offline games.

I'm almost certain that it will not be backwards compatible because of the whole thing about stooping pre-owned games and 'the term pre-rendered describes anything that is not rendered in real-time. This includes content that could have been run in real-time with more effort on the part of the developer (e.g. video that covers a large number of a game's environments without pausing to load, or video of a game in an early state of development that is rendered in slow-motion and then played back at regular speed). The term is generally not used to describe video captures of real-time rendered graphics despite the fact that video is technically pre-rendered by its nature. '

Basically the ability to play previous generation games on a different generation console.

For example, the PS2 has backwards compatability.
This meant you could play PS1 games on it.

With the new Xbox, you wont be able to play Xbox 360 games on it.

Seriously though, the Xbox has to do something differnt than the PC, because it cant match that level of graphical fidelity and quality of games in general, and cant match the PS3 because it doesnt have as many good exclusives. So they went for making this, which I have been saying is exactly what they need to do, because now they are doing something that the other systems do not.

What benefits do consoles have over PC?

-You can borrow games from your friends
-You can resell games
-No activation codes
-Games don't need to be installed

Microsoft just threw all of these advantages away. GG.

For some PC games, but not for many, whereas this was true for all console games in the previous generations.

As I said, there's now no benefit to using a console over a PC.

To be fair, the consoles need to be designed to offer something the PC lacks in function, because they know PC would win if they just played next gen games. Unfortunately those extra functions become **** like the kinect.
