I get that it's a joke, and didn't actually take place..... unlike some people. But I found this to be in bad taste. Maybe for some of these reasons i'm not exactly sure why.

1. You're using president of the US, you know the symbol and leader of 300 million people.

2. You're making a joke about someone's wife, someone who for all intents and purposes is usually spared our uglier political vitriol.

3. Maybe it was the fact that you directly mention someone's wife, it's not as bad as when you use a generic Bob or "man", but you kinda single one man and say, "President Barack Obama at 1600 Penn ave. wife knows what the inside of the whorehouse smells like".

4. These kinds of witticisms usually come with the first subject trying to one up or insult the other, Obama didn't...he just made a comment about aftershave. Then he got his wife insulted.

It came out as mean spirited and not even in a funny format, 0/10 would not retell.

inb4 ""found the Obama supporter" I dislike him, and have found a newfound sympathy (not nearly enough to think he wasn't a terrible president) for Bush this joke just kinda sucked.

Get the sand out of your vagina. If you get that it's a joke, why do you insist on getting colon crucified over it?
User avatar #152 to #145 - reginleif (05/18/2013) [-]
I said that I realized it was a joke in the context that I was responding to some people here who were treating this as if Bush actually said that.

It was a joke... a really bad one. And the amount of malice in it just overpowered the funny in my opinion. I'm pretty sure you've made similar calls in your own life.

;/ Not much, you see good sir I have only a dozen years on this earth.

At any rate, internet culture is no excuse for a badly formed joke.

I didn't know Bush had the brains for such a witty remark... Well played if this is real.

"well played if this is real"

"well played if this is real"

"well played if this is real"

You might be the dumbest **** ever. ....if this is real
User avatar #36 to #30 - defeats (05/18/2013) [-]
Why would saying "if this is real" make me dumb?
I'm not America, and your politics don't interest me.
"If" on the off chance it is real, which is possible, it is funny. "If" it isn't real, which is more likely then it is still funny.

Why must you be so hostile, did you have a hard week at school?
#47 to #36 - yunonomynameeh (05/18/2013) [-]
Not really being hostile -I tend to come of as harsh. Believe me, I didn't, even for a second, actually think you were the "dumbest **** ever". I just happen to be an asshole.

But it was a pretty dumb comment -there is absolutely nothing here that is even close to possible. If there even is a word for how close this is to "possible", those two words wouldn't even be allowed to exist in the same book.
User avatar #50 to #47 - defeats (05/18/2013) [-]
Anyway, I wasn't insinuating that it happened, I really just meant that I'd be impressed if Bush had the brains to be so witty.
User avatar #95 to #50 - yunonomynameeh (05/18/2013) [-]
No worries dude, I think it was just in the way you worded it -made it sound like you really thought it might have happened. Live goes on.

Well I was around during and 9/11, it was all over British Tv including how stupid Bush is.
Besides, I can know a former president is stupid without knowing if he and Obama ever come in contact with each other.

i wonder how anyone could like bush better than obama... he ******* destroyed our economy
#252 to #229 - teenytinyspider (05/19/2013) [-]
Actually, Bush just happened to be there when the bottom collapsed. Economies don't just collapse overnight. This was a long time coming.

How would you know you are a north korean citizen...
User avatar #271 to #229 - SgtObvious (05/19/2013) [-]
Actually, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton ****** the economy up. Bush just happened to be president when it happened. Carter passed the CRA which made banks loosen loan requirements. Clinton expanded on that by A LOT and then repealed the Glass-Steagall Act which restricted commercial banks from dealing with securities (stocks and bonds). The lax loans caused the housing bubble, the housing bubble caused banks to fail, the bank failures caused the bailouts, and all of that caused a stock market downturn and the subsequent bad economy. Repealing Glass-Steagall didn't directly contribute to the growth of the housing bubble, but the effects of the bank failures would have likely been smaller had it been in place because they would have had more backup capital. Bush did let all of this go on, but he didn't directly support it or have any reason to repeal it. It was a non-issue until the actual crash.

that's just it, Bush fu--ed everything up so Obama would take the fall

welcome to politics

are you crazy? Bush also was the one who responded to the largest terror attack in United States History (hopefully, ever), put the hurt on those countries who actively sought our destruction and supported and funded men who would kill innocents to prove a point. Now, I know the immediate counter, "oh the united states kills innocents all the time" Yes, we do. The difference, we don't -want- to. I was in Iraq, we had an accident that killed most of a small family, the survivors got a lot of money from the US government which is really all you can do in such a circumstance.
User avatar #262 to #259 - navadae (05/19/2013) [-]
he responded by waging war on the whole of iraq and iran... instead of going for JUST the one responsible, he went after the whole

that's not a good thing, if you don't understand
#264 to #262 - lastkingofx (05/19/2013) [-]
He went to war with Afghanistan, whose brutal Taliban regime was hiding Osama Bin Laden and let him establish numerous training camps across the country, and then went to war with Iraq, whose dictatorship put down revolts against his rule in the past with things like, chemical weapons. That's not a good thing, if you don't understand.
User avatar #268 to #264 - navadae (05/19/2013) [-]
the whole war was pointless to begin with, and i dont understand why people defend it..

explain it to me, please

it wasn't about going after the terrorists, thats one small group...

it was about revenge, that's it.. and revenge is pointless, it's blind and worthless
#277 to #268 - lastkingofx (05/19/2013) [-]
We asked The taliban to turn over Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban -refused- on several occasions, and tried to bargain. President Bush refused negotiations, we knew they did it, they admitted they did it, and Al Qaeda helped keep the Taliban regime in power, in Afghanistan the Taliban Al Qaeda was one in the same.

The alternative for that year said something along the lines of "if your stupid you wind up in Iraq", or something like that. I'm too lazy to look up the exact quote. I imagine it may have a little something to do with that.

Also, its rare a returning president wont win.
sometimes its best to keep the idiot you know than to risk a new idiot.
