Mao and Stalin both despised religion and had Christians and Muslims killed purely based on their beliefs

I'd say that's just as bad as the crusades and modern-day Islamic extremists

well wouldn't their religious belief be in having no god?
Which means they believed in no god.

All the "belief" semantics annoy me. Secular belief and religious belief are different, as one is based on confidence in observable, tangible evidence, while the other relies on elements of faith without tangible proof.
I probably worded that poorly, but hopefully you see my point. It's like painting an orange red and saying "Look, it's exactly like an apple now!"

He pointed out how Atheism has shown its bad side in recent years too, Stalin and Mao as good examples, two people that targeted and killed people who were religious
User avatar #350 to #345 - thebrownydestroyer **User deleted account** (05/19/2013) [-]
I think he got so many red thumbs because people are trying to tell him there have been points in history where there has been pointless mass murders by religious people, in the name of their own religion. What he doesn't get is that people who happened to be atheist never did evil things because of their atheism, more so for power and control. Another thing is that if a religious leader, like the pope, would say something like "that man is the anti-Christ, he must be killed!" a lot of catholic, maybe not christian, people would believe him without question. Where as if an atheistic leader like Stalin would say "we need to kill millions of people for the good of the country!" no one would follow him on just that.
User avatar #359 to #350 - lordmoldywart (05/19/2013) [-]
People would follow Stalin on just that one statement, he had the whole military behind him, even worse with Mao, people in China at the time saw him as a God
User avatar #358 to #350 - lordmoldywart (05/19/2013) [-]
Stalin and Mao are notable for killing many people because they were religious, hence why he mentioned them

The whole concept of life is incompatible with peace. Every species is competing against their own and other species to survive and pass on their genes resulting in a universal struggle that is infinite and brutal.

Here's a translation for people who don't want to have their ideals associated with the "I'm 13 and I'm trying to be cool!" people.
It's about self-empowerment, not worshiping Satan. Satan doesn't exist and is just an image, nothing more. It's also against sacrifices, especially of children and animals. But IMO, it's the nietzschean philosophy made into a religion.
The Nine Statements:
- Don't be abstinent and deny yourself things.
- Worry about the physical self and forget about the 'after life', it doesn't matter.
- Don't be a hypocrite.
- Be nice and kind to people who deserve your kindness, and **** the douchebags who are undeserving of it.
- If someone ***** with you, **** with him so that he won't **** with you ever again.
- Be responsible for your actions and don't blame others for them.
- Man is an animal, and only better because he is more vicious.
- The concept of 'religious sin' is ******** , and it denies you emotional, physical and mental satisfaction.
- The idea of 'Satan' as a real being kept the church in business for years.

The 11 Rules:
- Shut up about your opinions and advice unless someone asks you about them.
- Shut up about your problems unless you are sure someone wants to listen to them.
- Show respect when in someone else's home, otherwise GTFO.
- If a guest in your home shows you disrespect, disrespect him/her worse than they do to you.
- No forcing yourself on another sexually.
- Don't steal unless the person doesn't want the item in question.
- Admit you were lucky when you get rich, or else you will lose it all.
- Don't complain about things that don't concern you.
- Don't hurt children.
- Only kill non-human animals in self-defense or for food.
- Don't bother people. If someone bothers you and you politely ask him to stop and he doesn't, kick his ass.

The nine sins of satanism
- Stupidity
- Pretentiousness
- Solipsism
- Lying to Yourself
- Herd Conformity
- Lack of Perspective
- Forgetfulness of past Orthodoxies
- Counterproductive Pride
- Lack of Aesthetics

Basically, if people want to educate others on satanism, they should cut out all of the 'satanic' and 'gothic' wordplay and just present it in regular english.

Hiding your intolerance of peoples believes (even if admitably SOME people that follow that belief are equally intolerant) by posting your views behind the thin guise of mock intelligence on the internet doesn't make you superior to the people you insult

They can hear, and see what you're visually thinking. This is the absolute complete truth!!!!!

The reason a lot of Asians have completely expressionless faces is so they don't accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don't like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.

Try thinking, and visually picturing things that are as wild as you can when you are around Asians, and look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason.

>Christianity is small group of close followers who have incredible faith
>they are called "Christ-like" because they are able to be noticed by how they love people
>This small group does so much good that big important people take notice and decide it's pretty awesome
>small jerk underlings decide to join in on the title without really understanding what it means
>they use the title of Christian for protection while being total jerks
>eventually leaders come up who don't understand Christianity but use the title for protection
>eventually it's just a circle jerk of retards who claim they are Christians doing whatever they want
>it's not like some religions where it says "go out and kill non believers"
>in Christianity we are taught to love everyone unconditionally and do not judge others
>people look back and associate the will of idiots as the core of religion
>That's like saying the guy who made this is an ignorant jerk who is atheist, so therefor i can assume all atheists are megaminded jerks who stroke themselves off to the fact they are right and everyone else is wrong
>pic is a reward for having wasted your time with my opinion

It's not religion I mind. It's when people decide that they can oppress other people because they have different beliefs. I mind when people are killed in the name of religion, I mind when homosexuals are kept from leading normal lives because of religion, I mind when women are raped and made property by religion. Because in that case, people are using the word 'religion' in place of intolerance, bitterness, darkness, and insecurity.

My best friend is Christian, and she is the most wonderful, beautiful, kind, caring, giving, accepting person I've met in my life. I know another Christian, and she is the most close-minded, intolerant, ignorant, and callous person I've met.

The only 'evil' is the maliciousness that causes someone to harm others, be it conscious or sub-conscious. Evil doesn't come from the 'devil', it comes from people

For everyone who thinks Islam is a religion of peace I recommend "Islam - What the West Needs to Know"
User avatar #312 - thumbaccountlol (05/18/2013) [-]
To whom it may concern;

Islam is a religion of peace, so is Christianity, and so are all the other major religions. The few who use it for their own gain and warp peoples minds to turn them against their true beliefs are wrong. These few have caused the disasters we attribute to religions, the masses of these beliefs are not bad people, they are taught the way to act and most follow it.

TL;DR People are judged too harshly by what they believe as peoples views have been warped by the decisions of the few, do not judge someone by the belief, judge them by their actions.

Signed. A through and through Atheist.
