Yeah... figures a woman would be too stupid to know she can't breathe underwater.

So let me get this straight, while in human form Ariel maintains the ability to breathe underwater? We know she can only change back through Ursela's magic, we know that as a human she loses her gills and ability to breathe underwater, therefore while in human form (as seen in the picture) she is not able to breathe while underwater.

Dispute my logic.

This is ******* stupid. You should change and all this ******** about "change only for yourself" is idiotic. You need to be able to survive in the real world and the best way to do that is to not stick out. The nail that sticks out is the one that gets hammered down or some **** like that, it's a saying. Not everyone is some special different snow flake, that's ********. Sometimes change is for the better. This picture for example, she changed in order to be with the man she loves. She wouldn't be with him if she hadn't changed. It was worth it.

Change is inevitable, but changing everything about yourself and who you are is unnecessary.

It is necessary. If you are a drunk with long hair and filthy clothes trying to get a job, i'd say you should change first. Get a damn hair cut, stop drinking, and buy a new suit. Act like an adult instead of a little immature ****. Change is a good thing.

But that's not changing, that's like putting on makeup. If being a bratty good for nothing child is what you want, so be it.

That is changing. You're growing the **** up. Stop drinking excessively and get a haircut and a new suit. You're maturing. I had long hair in highschool, then I went to college and felt like a ******* kid so I got a haircut and now I look more like a man. Hippies and kids have long hair, men do not. It's all part of growing up and becoming a man, on the inside and out.

You are not a man, you just look to what many say how a real man looks and just bends to it. I respect the man who keep his hair because he loves it, not the man who just trimmed it because his wife ******* told him to.

First you must look the part, then you become the part. You have to look like a man before you are a man. It's not bad to fit into what society wants you to be... sometimes society is right. This is one of those cases. Small changes lead to larger changes.

Flagrant faggotry.
People tend to regret the decissions they made when given the choice to pick. Basically, you always want what you don't have. THAT doesn't mean the choice you made was the wrong one, or that change is bad. You're just programmed that way.

Didn't say anything with that. The reasons for us to regret our decisions are countless, and in this particular example it's about the pressure that society applies in regards to what the desired look we should be after.

God damnit every person like you thinks they are so smart and start their message with "bla bla fag cunt stupid". You just made every normal person take you for a joke. You maybe can impress a couple (more like 80%) of people here but honestly it's better to think it through before posting one more time.

She changed mostly because of a boy..To me,It looks like Eric divorced her,& Ariel is lost, she doesn't know what to do now.She feels uncomfortable still living with him so she decides to move out the castle.. she tried going to the city,Exploring everything the way she wanted in her songs, but along the way,She realizes that it's not that simple..She realizes that life on land is way too complicated and hard.

She stops by the rocks where she first spotted the castle from..She almost Regrets to have saved him from the ship wreck..She sits on the rocks & remembers her life in the sea,All those people who loved her,Everything she had, and calls herself a spoiled little brat for wanting more...''Why?'' she cried over and over , staring into the horizon while she tries to sew her legs back as a mermaid tail again, wishing she could be with her daughter Melody...Who she hasn't heard of in years..

lol ima stop now.

She didn't become a human to make everyone else happy, SHE wanted to be a human. She just happened to fall in love with the prince after she was pretty much decided on the matter. If it wasn't him it would have been another human boy.

No, I've recently watched it, and SHE wanted to be human. Just because the witch used her love for Eric doesn't mean that that was Ariel's sole reason for becoming human. She sings about dancing, and fires, and books, and is obsessed with human items. She wanted both the prince and to be human. She didn't change for anyone but her.

The second movie suggests that she didn't regret it. She had a daughter named Melody who wanted to be a mermaid, remember? And Ariel tried to keep her from it, to protect her.
