Interesting story. When I first got yellow, way back when it was new, I couldn't figure out how to get out of Viridian Forest. I thought the exit was a dead end, and never bothered walking up to it. All I did for days on end was kill Caterpie with my Pikachu. I don't remember what level I got to, but my brother eventually figured out how to get out. The rest of the game was easy, thanks to my grossly over leveled rat. I quick attacked Brock into submission, since I knew electric wouldn't work from the T.V. show.

Reminds me of when I was younger against Brock and the rest of my team died except for my Metapod. Only knew Harden, but the beast miraculously hardened so much that nothing could really do a lot of damage and then he ended up using all the hardened move sets and struggled and kicked Brock's ass

How I usually play is use my starter until I got an Eevee... then just Vaporeon the **** out of everything.

I remember when i was little I use to use this when i was stuck on something. (or when i wanted to find out when a pokemon evolved) I have replayed both red and blue version so much my guides are pretty worn out.

Guys, I haven't played Pokemon extensively since I was young. It looks fun as **** , so which game do I get to start out?

My dad got me Pokemon Blue when I was about 4, and it was from the pawn shop so it had a saved game already. It sucked because it was at Cinnabar Island or something in the cave, without an Escape Rope (or reading skills). Didn't know what New Game was until way later

OR just... talk to the aid at the entrance.
#51 - anonymous (05/16/2013) [-]
Or just use one primary Pokemon so its over leveled and use whatever the hell you want.
I would say it's harder today because of the reduced exp at higher level.

That goes with any game. Oh, stuck on this boss fight? Well too ******* bad, figure it out yourself.
