No it isn't.
There are a million ******* drawings on the internet of women describing what they think their period is like.
It's not funny if it's been done a million times before.
These cunts need to learn some creativity and originality.

to be honest with my girlfriend when she's on her period she is the same maybe some small cramps once in a while and actually more horny. I think its a excuse for some women to have a pity party and have an excuse for everything. some but not all

Hormone levels and severity of cramps (etc) vary from person to person.
Some women need to take iron supplements to stop from fainting or becoming anemic. Others need to go to extreme measures to deal with mind-shattering cramps that can hurt enough to make them vomit, or faint.
Birth control pills help with many of these problems, but may carry unpleasant side effects on their own, like weight gain and health problems. Usually these are minimal at best, but weight gain can be 20-30lbs for some women, and the pill may cause heart problems, stroke, or more.
Periods can also cause womens boobs to be extremely tender, their backs to hurt, and a bunch of other ****** stuff.
Luckily for some women, cramps stop after childbirth, though for some women they worsen, or are simply never a problem.
It's all genetics and luck, and either way, it's not a healthy process. Tampons and pads have chemicals in the from the manufacturing process, blood is EVERYWHERE, you probably have to sleep differently to avoid waking up in the red sea, and tampons can actually extend a woman's period by 1-3 days.

Oh, and some women's periods can last for months at a time.

Ugh when I went on birth control mine lasted for five weeks. Thank god mine are not very bad but even then it was just getting excessive. I started getting lightheaded after a couple weeks. Worst part is getting birth control made me go from no cramps or anything to suddenly having bad cramps.
#129 to #53 - anonymous (05/14/2013) [-]
The worst part is when you wake up in the morning all the blood that had pooled overnight floods out at once and there isn't anything that can handle that big rush of fluid so there is always blood everywhere. Unless you're lucky enough to get really light ones.

I think it's far use when maybe someone gets to skip ahead in a lunch line because she's not feeling well and just needs to go eat right away (especially if they're getting dizzy or lightheaded), or wants to lay down during class and goes to the sick room, or gets free tea or something. Some girls really do need to sit out of activities, or work somewhere else where they find it easier to focus. They also might just genuinley need to lay down (strategically) on the couch, curled up in a ball, eating chocolate and watching the Breakfast Club.
Personally, I think it's okay to stay home from school or less serious commitments when a girl is having her period, if she's just having a really really bad day.
When I first started mine, by brother came home to find me laying face down on the living room floor, half crying, half just letting tears leak from my eyes, and humming with my cat sitting on my back and Fresh Prince reruns on TV; I really did feel like if I moved, I'd collapse in a heap with a migraine serious enough to get the government to allow me to shoot myself in the face to spare myself from suffering.
It can get really bad, and usually the best idea is to just assume the woman is telling the truth, because you're not in her body and you don't know what she's experiencing.

My teacher lets me make tea in class everyday because he knows I have some anxiety and depression that I'm working through and I never get enough sleep (unrelated to periods).
To other people, it probably looks really unfair, but they don't know the full story, and he'd do the same for them if they were in my position.
It's all about percpective.

Some women are just bitches in general, but don't let that cause you to make unfair judgement or assumptions of other women because of it.

Out of genuine curiosity how bad is a period really? I know I don't really have any basis to make assumptions here but I get the feeling that a lot of these kind of things over-exaggerate it.

Sorry, deleted the last comment because I wrote puberty instead of period, it's late.

Some, you hardly notice as far as the pain, but it makes things like moving around hard even if it isnt painful.

you can sneeze and its like Niagara falls.
and then theres just the blood that escapes to where you dont want and then everyone makes fun of you that theres blood everywhere.

women lose a lot of underwear that way .

Mine personally when on BC were not bad at all. Once every four months or longer I would have that one that was like "urk... uncomfortable"
but it lasts a day, and is gone after that usually.

I am unfortunately one of the people who were messed with as a child, so now if I am not on BC, its 6 decibels higher than the pain from a 1inch kidney stone, and 2 decibels above childbirth.

I only know because when they didnt believe I had such debilitating cramps, they sent me to a doctor and stuck these tiny needles into the nerves around that area.
and a thing monitored the intensity of the cramping/pain signals whatever I was 12 I dont remember how it worked.

I only remember how much pain they said it measured.

#183 to #43 - allinall (05/14/2013) [-]
Sometimes I cannot physically get out of bed. My cramps are debilitating, and just as soon as I think I can get up and walk around, gravity kicks in and blood spews forth like the Niagra falls from my vagina, so i have to lay back down just so i don't go through a box of tampons in less than an hour, and then eventually the cramps start back and thus the cycle repeats

For some girls it is really bad. My best friend gets really bad cramps that sometimes it puts her in tears, and she gets really bitchy because she is in so much pain. But for me my period lasts 3 days and i feel fine, no cramps and no mood swings. It really honestly depends on the girl, but some girls do like to be dramatic about it.

Personally, I don't find the actual period that bad... I get some cramps the first day but they easily disappear with some Tylenol... What I hate is having to check for red spots on my ass 24/7 and limited mobility from always wanting to keep my legs together... that's just my experience.
