I always wanted this game as a child. Always.

Why have they not done this? The closest I ever got was Pokemon Stadium 1 + 2 on the Nintendo 64. Also that thing where you could plug your cartridge of red, blue or yellow (stadium 1) and gold, silver and crystal (stadium 2) made me want it even more. I STILL WANT THIS TO HAPPEN.

most of the pokemon games are regions in japan. one day, I hope they will make a pokemon world. Covering all of the planet. we will have millions of pokemon and damn near impossible to catch them all. and the ability to go over level 100 for pikachu.

Honestly, soooo much potential. Awesome graphics and a good story line. I would play the fuck out of this. If WOW didn't kill me, this would

Large scale world.
-151 pokemon to be modeled. EVEN MORE if we're going beyond Red/Blue
-Different animations for each pokemon
-Putting in several different trainers AND animating them.
Also don't forget items, coming up with a plot, maybe bosses/gym leaders. Visual Effects for moves. Possibly voices. 3D cutscenes that'll probably be seperately animated.
Ever wonder why the 3-D pokemon games don't have all the pokemon? Or if they do, it's that shitty Colosseum play? THAT'S your reason right there. Just the sheer amount of WORK they have to do to get something like that off the ground.
I'd say, the best thing to do is to take your 3D game. Count the number of enemies, number of bosses, number of Playable Characters, number of NPC's. Compare that to pokemon. Think of the price it would cost to develop that.

We already had Kanto way too many times. Why not another region?

Pokemon is a franchise with a defined public of kids (of course adults play but it you get my point) and its also connected with nintendo
The closer you could get is to make a game for Wii, which cannot handle this sort of graphics in the same level as a ps3/xbox
The closer you could have is something with zelda skyward graphics, and a pkmn stadium fight, or we could say, Pokemon X and Y for wii instead of 3ds
Also, it main games/storyline is and has allways been made for the handhelds
another reason, is that graphics the way your image shows does not appeal for kids as much as the current art style, and again, kids are the main public, so its not interesting to nintendo invest on it.
Another reason is that pkmn is a rpg based game, so if you dream with some sort of action fighting that a full 3d open world could provide, Im sorry to say that its never gonna happen.

If you're going to make a Pokémon game, do it right
-You can never catch starters in the wild
-Pikachu is female, but has no notch in its tail
-The trainer design is from Firered and not red

I'm ready for incoming red thumbs

Final Fantasy

Unpopular opinion inbound. You can call me a nostalgia fag, but I loved gen1 pokemon for exactly what it was, and I don't think that this 'free world' remake concept would be a major improvement. It would be like digitally remaking the original Star Wars trilogy. The classics shouldn't be messed with.

p.s.: on a separate note, Han shot first

I always thought they should do a console pokemon with the combat system of Final Fantasy 12. I think it would have worked perfectly.

Because pokemon with good graphics looks weird as shit..

My opinion.

I guess they're afraid they'd make too much money. I'd buy whatever system I had to in order to play this.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's an unreal engine 3 animation.

This is still possible though, moreso if this is due to UR3.

not a remake, but something similar...
User avatar #35 - pocketstooheavy (05/06/2013) [-]
It can't be real because they can't run it on Nintendo's handheld devices and they won't move to a full console or they will lose a ridiculous amount of money.
