Oh god, I remember I was about 17, working this job as a cook out at a golf course. I was still pretty new when I got my first closing shift, closing alone. We had this flat top grill that had to be cleaned with a really strong acid every night. Never seen it before that night. Read the chicken scratch instructions from the old cook on how to clean grill. "Turn to HI, FN ON, Pour and scrape." What the ***** a FN? Crank up grill, open all the windows and turn on a fan, pour acid nightmare. Giant plume of acid vapour flies up, I gasp, choke. Oh god why. crawl my way out the door, spend ten minutes catching breath. Go back inside, scrape grill. Go to talk to my manager, realize my voice is now deeper and gruffer. Doctor says its mild acid damage. ************** .MPG. God that place was awful.

For other fun death fumes, try mixing bleach and degreaser!

3.5 years in a dining hall has taught me all the things to never ******* do again.
