The same day as the bombing, a 7.8-8.0 earthquake happened outside of the Himalayas in Pakistan. From what I heard over 150 people have died and more missing. Haven't heard anything about it on the news(I'm from Canada, but I haven't heard of the earthquake news from anyone i know in the US), I found out through the Philip Defranco Show and my Earth Systems teacher.

well see, assuming this is referring to the American media, then their viewership is mostly Americans. We're going to be a lot more concerned about Americans dying because it quite literally 'hits closer to home'. I'm sure media in other parts of the world are much more concerned about their own people dying. As much disdain that i have for the media, i'm still inclined to agree with the coverage of my own fellow citizens dying more than some people on the other side of the planet.

It's not just the fault of the media. If they focus on the other countries, nobody will watch because we as a country don't care about other countries that aren't like us.

OR how about how America is still milking that Sandy Hook ********, when the Drone strikes that Obama supports in the middle east have killed about 200 children. Gotta love the disregard for life on both sides.

America is a boiling pot of other countries and backgrounds. by this logic we have our own hyperbreed with no whites, hispanic, asians, africans or middle easters. interesting.

What's annoying is that my country's media wont shut up about it.
Yes it's sad from an empathetic point of view, but do I actually care?
Not in the slightest.

Maybe other countries should place a greater value on their citizens. I think we should live in a world where even one person being killed is considered a great tragedy. Even if they were killed to protect others, it's still very sad that it had to come to that.
