I know they are joking, But if you have played with a PS2 or PS3 controller before, Guessing what the buttons are is quite simple.

#51 to #48 - Womens Study Major (03/31/2013) [-]
Um...actually Kanji is originally Chinese, the Japanese just borrow it, so unless this controller has Hiragana there's no way to tell. ***** .
User avatar #89 to #51 - elbrysobrony (03/31/2013) [-]
It's actually pretty well assumed to be Japanese, because the rest of the controller is decorated like samurai armor.
User avatar #78 to #51 - illusiveman (03/31/2013) [-]
blah blah blah i know everything
User avatar #15 - mattseven (03/30/2013) [-]
Assuming this is a ps3 controller.

Square button = Mouth
X button = Earth
O button = Yen
Triangle button = 3
+ pad = Samurai

Cheating.
User avatar #71 - Nihatclodra (03/31/2013) [-]
Aside from the Kanji for Samurai on the D-pad, dafuq was the creator of this controller thinking with the buttons? Mouth? 3? Yen? Earth? I guess the way they have the kanji written kind of look like the shapes of Square, Triangle, Circle, and X: but it's not immediately obvious... It would have been better to just use calligraphy-styled versions of the original buttons; or simply less random kanji.
#94 to #71 - emiyasama (03/31/2013) [-]
***** , you serious? The kanji for mouth is also the kanji for square, the 3 I understand your point, Yen and Circle share the same kanji and the bottom one is samurai, not earth.
User avatar #150 to #94 - Nihatclodra (03/31/2013) [-]
角 is the kanji for square. The kanji for mouth was probably only used due to it looking like a square.
Circle, you are indeed correct, I wasn't aware of that.
I just looked, and it looks like the kanji for 3 is also the kanji for triangle (3 sides).
It appears that 土, which is indeed the kanji for Earth, is the Radical Kanji for Samurai; whereas 侍 is the actual kanji for Samurai...
#154 to #150 - emiyasama (03/31/2013) [-]
It's not 土, note how the top stroke is longer than the bottom one on the picture.
User avatar #155 to #154 - Nihatclodra (04/01/2013) [-]
I thought that was just to make it look more like an "X"...

either it's just the angle of the controller in the picture but, to me, those analog sticks look useless.
