Certain music I pirate and other music I don't. If I know it's an independent artist spending their own money to put out a product they hope to make money on to live off of, then I pay for it. If it's a big record company artist or band I usually pirate it because **** you.

Tell me if im morally wrong here: I upgraded my phone and it came with this muve music plan for 5 buck extra mandatory a month but required this ******** tiny ass not working at all micro sd card for it to work. the plan allows me to download unlimited music and listen to it only when i have cell reception. so, since it doesnt work but i still have to pay for the muve music i am being robbed. So does me pirating even us out?

if you really think about it the pirate community is the closest thing to a functioning communism outside of small tribal groups in the history of man

I understand bands and artists thrive on money gained through downloads, merch, ticket sales and the like...but I see no need to criminalize pirating music. I wouldn't buy a car without test driving it, so why would I spend my hard earned cash on an album/song I didn't like? The way I see it, listening to music via any means should be free without worry or care...I understand artists need to make a profit, but don't you think that MORE people would buy albums and songs if they knew what they were buying and knew that they liked it rather than just making a purchase blindly or with little knowledge of the contents? If you like an artist or song, you should support them by buying their music, merch and tickets...but simply listening to music via downloads and online media should always be free rather than forced down your throat to make a buck like everything else. There should be a difference between freedom to listen to music and support through buying it

I have noticed that most of the people I want music from really actually need the money.
