I buy physical copies as much as I can, but when there are things such as famous bands albums or classic films I havent got round to seeing, I generally turn to pirating

Nobody's lived through communism.
If I remember correctly, Communism is a moneyless, classless, and stateless social order based on everyone having the means of production.
Every "communist" country has been a dictatorship of sorts.

They haven't lived through the idea of communism, but they've lived through the actuality of it.

Fair enough, I suppose.
It would be interesting to see the idea of communism perfectly executed and preformed.

It would. Personally, I think it's a great idea, but people aren't perfect enough to maintain it the way it should be.

why exactly is communism bad? I know about the cold war, and the house of un american activities but what makes communism such a bad thing?

on paper, communism works, but as soon as you recognize that the guy doing less than you is getting the exact same as you, communism doesn't work. Besides the leaders taking the money for themselves while putting a minimal amount towards the people

It is not that it is bad every time corruption results in communism's failure. In addition do you really thin a doctor should get paid the same as a janitor?

anytime someone brings up communism i hear this argument "do you want doctors to be payed as janitors/bakers/whatever low job there is)

but in my opinion when communism is DONE RIGHT which will never be everyone will have everything they want so there is no jelusy if you love your job you would do it right its not about the money its about helping the community

communism isn't bad, people are bad. That's what makes communism only good on paper and ineffective in reality. And Russia (USSR) was really totalitarian, which the people hated. The only time they were communistic was during briefly during lenin, when people liked it

I guess I am communist then. If I had to choose from which country, I'd pick Russia. Especially the Soviet Union because back then Russians or Soviets were even more bad ass than today (if you ask me)

I understand bands and artists thrive on money gained through downloads, merch, ticket sales and the like...but I see no need to criminalize pirating music. I wouldn't buy a car without test driving it, so why would I spend my hard earned cash on an album/song I didn't like? The way I see it, listening to music via any means should be free without worry or care...I understand artists need to make a profit, but don't you think that MORE people would buy albums and songs if they knew what they were buying and knew that they liked it rather than just making a purchase blindly or with little knowledge of the contents? If you like an artist or song, you should support them by buying their music, merch and tickets...but simply listening to music via downloads and online media should always be free rather than forced down your throat to make a buck like everything else. There should be a difference between freedom to listen to music and support through buying it
