I doubt North Korea would actually start anything, they'd have to realize they'd be starting a war they couldn't win.
Even though the world likes to joke about America they are not someone you want to go to war with, the 'war' wouldn't take very long at all.

Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan.......
I disagree ^
your record of meddling is quite impressive though, WWI WWII etc.
America would kick N.Korea's ass though, yes.

Stupid anon, America won the war in Iraq. They killed Saddam and set up a new gov. Win.

And as for meddling, without our support in WWI or WWII, there would've been a very slim chance of the Allies winning.

yeah, North Korea will be bankrupt by their third attempt at making a nuke, and they don't have the technology, funds, manpower, or knowledge to make one. they are using decommissioned, cold war missiles, anyway. we could shoot those down within minutes of them being launched

no, nuclear warheads need to be triggered. if they are impact-triggered, then the tip needs to contact with the rest of the warhead intact. if you aim right, no problem. if you aim wrong, the missile is too high for it to be much of an issue except for EMP. however, most nukes are programmed not to detonate until they reach their GPS-designated target

also, there are plenty of places it could detonate with no ramifications. how the hell do you think they test the damn things?

In 10 million years some sort of intelligent life of some sort will find the artifacts of 8 billion humans and see that they all went extinct due to some sort of nuclear war that went on the that the World had gotten to a point where they hated each other so much that they killed each other. I'm calling it now, we are going to have to wipe them out, we are not going to want to do it but they are going to fire the nuke at us, we will shoot it down, and once you fire a nuke with intent to kill millions you can't just let that go. We will have to come in, spend a few months with a land invasion, if they don't crack bomb them some, until we can overthrow there goverment, then all all you know it all douchbag europeans (not all europeans just the douchbags) will hold it over our heads for god knows how long despite them deserving it and the place being a better place after its done

I do not fear nuclear war...I will not fear nuclear war as nobody is stupid enough to start it. I will only fear it when the chance of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) is diminished by warheads that can not be detected by radar and other means.

MAD is what prevented the Cold War from erupting into a nuclear war .

>Nuke 'murica to dust.
>'murica submarines nuke you to dust.

I can't think of any conceivable way that MAD wouldn't exist. Only problem we could possibly have is if some rogue country decides to nuke and doesn't understand the MAD logic.

It's entirely possible that the cold war could have gone hot without the use of nukes. To say that nukes were the solution to the war and not one of the major issues is incredibly ignorant

Such moves may have triggered Nuclear War. Basically both sides were in all accounts scared of the other and were afraid to make the first move fearing nuclear retaliation.

But yes, it is possible for the Cold War to get hot without Nukes, but World War III would use devastating weapons, not necessarily nuclear devices, I am thinking it would be biological. If you are patient enough, biological warfare can be done with out harming your citizens and without the victims knowing who did it.

But I would think you have to be Madagascar to survive such a scenario.

The entire point of the Cold War was to outdo their nuclear and military technology. Nuclear attacks were one of the biggest fears of the war, not the way to keep the war from going hot. In fact, both sides almost went hot at multiple points because of strategic posturing of nuclear missiles. You can keep saying nukes kept the war from really happening, but the only thing that kept both sides alive were cool-headed leaders
