i don't understand americas complacency---- even if a single nuke hits, millions of people will die.
and yet, they're not worried in the slightest.

Because it WONT hit.

Their launch tests have been horrid and pathetic, their ignition systems are faulty, and they only have enough plutonium for 8 nukes.

While as the United States has both 1000+ air to space, and 500+ satellite manual and drone anti ballistic defense systems that can detonate non-nuclear missiles, disable nuclear detonators in the missiles, fry the guidance chips, and cut the boosters with small laser pin points and radio waves from thousands of miles away, and from orbit.

They can't launch a nuke very far either. Because they're very very shotty. So they would have to sail out on a ship with the nukes, which would be picked up by satellite and be on red alert immediately, and have the satellites ready to disable the ballistics, or the navy to sink the ships.

This whole thing is happening is because N. Korea is Desperate. They broke the trade treaty with the US, it's allies, and it's neighboring countries that was giving them food, in exchange to stop nuke testing. They lied, are no longer trusted, no country wants to trade, and now they're starving to the point their own military is going under fed, their citizens are eating their own children, and their is a high chance of rioting because their leader doesn't know how to run a country.

Attacking to US, or any of it's allies in any way has been deemed "suicide". And this may be the very end of N. Korea. The moment they let loose one of their 6-8 nukes, it's officially war against the US and it's allies, and any other country they pissed off.

N.Korea is out manned, out gunned, out teched, and can't even feed it'self.

What do you want them to say? North Korea takes anything the US says about them as a grave insult and a provocation to war. They're like the annoying kid in class who's just trying to get a reaction. Even acknowledging them will just increase the chances they'll do something crazy.

we cannot just go in guns a blazin now i am not gonna pretend i know anything about any of this **** but what i do now is even with what north Korea is doing china is not just gonna let us go in there and tear em a new asshole..its not north Korea that we don't wanna **** with its china not to mention we are talking about nukes here...if we don't play our cards right who knows it might end in a nuclear war that is something no one wants ..north Korea is an ally to china even if china does not agree or like what north Korea is doing doesn't mean it is gonna allow the U.S to go in and **** em up ..in the end everyone is talking **** saying why don't we go in and just blow em up
but the U.N is trying to dissolve the issue without making any big moves like that ...i believe the last thing i read was the U.N cutting off north Korea's umm...i don't remember what it was called but basically north korea cannot sell high end expensive goods like cars and **** like that which apparently is a big income ...anyone can correct me if i am wrong..like i said i am not gonna pretend i know what i am talking about just my 2 cents on what little bits i read of it

Missile defense systems and the largest stock pile of nuclear weapons in the world kinda help with that I think. Also the fact that they don't seem to be able to construct a working missile with a live nuclear warhead that can get all they way across the pacific, let alone dodge said defense systems. *Shrugs* Kim Jong Un is just trying to look tough, even if they did have the capability, we would still be safe from him.

yes we are the most militaristic country in the world, but WE THE PEOPLE are not forced to do anything we dont want to.
HENCE WE ARE FREE
and yes we can ask Europe what ever we want because we protect most of it with our military, and i never said my country is perfect we are far from it but we are nothing close to NK, the two are incomparable.

for 1. weapons in america are usually safe, its only when someone who is disturbed mentally gets their hands on one that bad things happen
2. yes thats right we can, and so one person died because a bunch of people got pissed off, so what should we not offend anyone or say anything bad? are you serious.
3. military dog? really because we have 1.4 million in in the service, and 300 million residences...weird... that means 298.6 million people are not in the military....so who are all these military dogs?

are country is one of the most free in the world, and id rather have people die from our freedom then die from starvation because my country lacks the will to feed it people

Democracy in America is a complete sham.
The masses vote for who they are told to vote for by a media which is owned by the same people who own the companies which make massive profits from war and the military.
In the presidential elections, who you vote for is largely irrelevant. They are both puppets to the same people. (Look up the sponsors of the Romney and Obama campaigns - they both got massive sponsorships from the same goddamn banks).

But that is a completely separate issue, we're talking about NK here.

yea...cause we joined WWI and WWII for the money....haha yea... ******* stupid people. i voted for who i thought would be a better president, i CAN think on my own. and when did it become a sham because we have been doing it the same way for over 200 years...

Wars may cost the government money, but where does the government get its money from?
By taxing the people.
And who does the government owe money to?
The banks and the military-industrial complex.
The same people who run the military-industrial complex also run the media which supports the wars because it makes them ******* rich at the expense of everyone else.
Open your eyes.
User avatar #453 to #445 - YoursTruley (03/09/2013) [-]
most of the debt of the country is to the american people themselves not banks or complexes at all.

It's essentially common knowledge that America has the most dominant military power over the world. Korea, sure, they're up there definitely but hold no real threat to America. Korea makes no comparison to the amount of money, resources and time they spend on their militia. User avatar #550 to #354 - yuukiii (03/09/2013) [-]
maybe spy's (not very likely) but actual cameras or some thing wont be able to go inside that country. the cameras from space yes but again they are not that good. if we were to send unman drones to take better pics or video N. Korea has their right to shoot them down. you have to think about it this way:
anything that is considered a threat to us, is a threat to any country no matter how bad other people make them to be.
(omg) nukes are being tested . so? nukes are being tested and built in many places including the u.s (maybe not the testing part) point is, like many place in the world no one wants to be pushed around and therefore they must put on a show to say "hey dont mess with me i can hurt you"
#558 to #550 - fingapopyabuttho (03/09/2013) [-]
And you think they care if they shoot their drone down? You're ignorant if you don't think we'll be ready for whatever they try to throw at us. Especially now that they've threatened us. At the end of the day, NK has a limited amount of time before it's taken out of existence.
User avatar #566 to #558 - yuukiii (03/10/2013) [-]
you are mistaken and sound very angry at the same time.
i never said that we were not ready or anything. and to call someone ignorant just because they do not mention that "we are ready for what they throw at us" really just makes you sound like a "trigger happy" idiot. in a perfect world none of this would be happening but oh well a threat is nothing if there is nothing to back it up. and yea they may or may not have the means to do much damage.
#567 to #566 - fingapopyabuttho (03/10/2013) [-]
There's nothing trigger happy about striking back against someone attacking you, I'm done with this.

it does when no one was attacking you in the first place ;)

User avatar #570 to #569 - yuukiii (03/10/2013) [-]
who ISN'T attacking us.
unless they actually do something they are no real harm. think of it this way "they are talking **** , now if they throw the first punch then you have the right to kick their ass"
this is what most parents tell their kids when something happens at school. BUT like so many people today "you talking **** about me ima go over there and kick your ass to make you stop" which in the end leads to more problems.
#571 to #570 - fingapopyabuttho (03/10/2013) [-]

plus saying "its only a matter of time before they are wipe out" or some ******** is actually quite mean.
becoming Hitler are we?
just because someone is doing something doesn't mean the rest of their people have to suffer. and this isn't going towards you personally i just hate how people say stupid ******** like that. its like saying "Bush ****** us over, no matter we'll just kill him and his family and the people who were in charge with him and the people who voted for him hell we'll just kill everyone that would fix everything"

he ****** us over by still following his dad long before 9/11 happen.
yea they had oil but what the hell is the point of going to war (not 9/11)?
if you know ur history you would know this **** started in the late 80's early 90's
9/11 was just the push or excuse they needed to start that stupid war.
this is why he ****** us over, yea we are okay-ish now but now its "Obama's fault"
people are stupid, people who follow are even more so.
you may like bush but he was a puppet not a leader.

why doesn't the U.S. just invade North Korea anyway? we could use some more revenue anyway, and with the most powerful military in the world, why do we keep solving other peoples problems and not our own? if they try to nuke South Korea or anyone else, we just shoot the cold war-era piece of **** down. problem solved.
#443 to #353 - thebiggartner (03/09/2013) [-]
well ill give you reasons
1.there are alot of civilians in north korea that would die
2. they have bombs and maybe even nuclear missiles
3.north korea has a huge army (not compared to Usa, but it can still do some damage to american troops that would try to invade...)

So alot of people would die on both sides and noone is interested in that... youve played to much CoD
User avatar #456 to #443 - kagji (03/09/2013) [-]
1.)collateral damage happens. get over it, people don't matter that much.
2.)they use cold-war era technology. their unguided missiles have an effective range of about 80 miles, and a single F-14 could destroy every one.
3.)so did Germany. we ignored their threats, paid for it dearly, and still kicked their ass

actually, both sides want that, they just don't want to lose. I also don't play CoD or Battlefield, I think they are over-simplified because no one has the reflexes or intelligence to play anything else and I want STORY in my game. if I want a shooter I will **** around on TF2 or Arma until I get bored(about 20 minutes). most of what I do is train for marine force recon, as I am enlisting after the summer quarter.

#405 to #402 - itsbendingtime (03/09/2013) [-]
China has said they will not support NK if they are the aggressors, which is why it's all frozen in a stalemate at the moment.
SK and the US want to destroy NK, but can't attack first because then China will get involved on NK's side, which is bad news for everyone.
NK wants to destroy or take over SK, but can't attack first because then they will lose the support of China.
All that is going on now is saber rattling as each side tries to bait the other into attacking first.
User avatar #415 to #405 - kagji (03/09/2013) [-]
yeah, but china is going to leave them if they ever get a nuke. that has been said as well. also, they don't have UN approval, so if they do manage get a nuke, they will be neck-deep in **** . so either they go bankrupt, or lose their only useful ally and have half the world up their ass. or probably just the US. they have no way out other than to say sorry and quit while they're ahead.
#448 to #415 - itsbendingtime (03/09/2013) [-]
Nope, NK already has nukes... Did you not hear that they detonated one as a "test" last month?
They've had nuclear weapons for quite a while now.
User avatar #463 to #448 - kagji (03/09/2013) [-]
failed launch(they were going for a cruise missile, anything else would be pointless), successful detonation. I could build one with the right materials, they aren't that complicated. you can find blueprints online if you want. I found them in an old boy scouts manual. along with simplified blueprints for breeder and fission reactors. working with nuclear materials is easy if you don't care about safety or sustainability.
#495 to #463 - itsbendingtime (03/09/2013) [-]
They had a successful rocket launch as well, claimed it was just to put a satellite in space but if they can do that they can launch a long range missile.
They also managed to completely contain all radioactive material from their most recent test so that other countries couldn't figure out if it was a plutonium or uranium bomb.
NK's nuclear technology is not something to simply be dismissed, it's a serious threat (to south korea at least.)

the only one with any real offensive (or defensive) capabilities is china because no one wants to deal with NK's **** .
#369 - ninjapuppies (03/09/2013) [-]
I bet that if Korea launched a missile US would just shoot it down before it got very far

MFW that happens
#384 to #369 - tffan (03/09/2013) [-]
First they have to get it off the launch pad before it explodes. Every attempt they have made to test a long distant rocket has ended in some sort of failure.
User avatar #417 to #384 - pandation (03/09/2013) [-]
That was several months ago. The US have confirmed that N.K have developed missiles that can be successfully launched from the back of trucks that are street legal sized. This doesn't mean a lot to U.S at the moment but it is a reason for concern due to their developing missile program but also for South Korea because they are absolutely in range at all times and perhaps Japan. Just saying, they are getting better at becoming a threat and soon shouldn't be ignored. They are a problem that needs to be addressed soon
User avatar #389 to #384 - ninjapuppies (03/09/2013) [-]
If they did. I'm sure the US has some sort of counter measure. If not, then that's to bad
#395 to #389 - mugigs (03/09/2013) [-]

1. The US is still a superpower. Our navy is the Queen Bitch of the seas.

2. We were kicking North Korea's ass until CHINA. And btw, China is in the process of disowning NK. They even approved the sanctions being passed against them in the UN.
User avatar #199 to #187 - ivoryhammer (03/09/2013) [-]
