This is one of the few times I'd support the US going to war.
User avatar #58 to #50 - ishalltroll (03/08/2013) [-]
There's no reason. North Korea isn't even worth being recognized as a threat.
User avatar #59 to #58 - SognaVetr ONLINE (03/08/2013) [-]
No, but the Korean regime is terrorizing it's entire civilization.
User avatar #411 to #59 - serotonin (03/09/2013) [-]
Check out number of countries that N.Korea invaded or bombed in last 30 years, then do same for America... Who is terrorizing world again?
User avatar #576 to #411 - SognaVetr ONLINE (03/10/2013) [-]
Look at my first post, I said this would be one of the few times I would support the US going to war. I also think most other wars they participated in where uncalled for and/or had clear economical reasons behind them.
User avatar #588 to #576 - serotonin (03/11/2013) [-]
I am talking about terrorizing world parts. N Korea is only terrorizing its own citizens USA on the other hand...
User avatar #60 to #59 - ishalltroll (03/08/2013) [-]
They've been doing so for the past 40 or so years.
User avatar #68 to #60 - blacklite (03/08/2013) [-]
...and that makes it okay?
User avatar #86 to #68 - ishalltroll (03/09/2013) [-]
No but now suddenly everybody is like "Oh hey, he treats his population badly. I just recognized this.", after the whole thing has been running for ages.
Also, the majority of the states in Africa treat their populations like **** , you wanna go to war with all of them too?
User avatar #107 to #86 - SognaVetr ONLINE (03/09/2013) [-]
I've been saying that for as long as I understand basic politics... All I'm sayign is this is one of the few wars i would support because it would actually benefit more people than it would harras.
User avatar #93 to #86 - Onemanretardpack (03/09/2013) [-]
South Korea has handcuffed us about not attack the North. It's part of the armistice. Now we have reason to disregard those terms, but it's not clear if we will. I for one, highly doubt we would. It'd be a total joke. They towed their "nuclear missiles" with tractors in their military parades for ***** sake
#91 to #86 - montybalboa (03/09/2013) [-]
I think the difference is that Africa is just plain ********* whereas N. Korea is a ********* regime by choice, and they are in a good situation to grow, as proved by S. Korea.
User avatar #157 to #58 - foelkera ONLINE (03/09/2013) [-]
That's a good excuse for not disciplining a child. You'll just end up with some obnoxious little **** who doesn't know how to shut the hell up.
User avatar #580 to #157 - ishalltroll (03/10/2013) [-]
Oh please. They're not a threat now and they won't ever be in the coming 20 years. Just ignoring them is the best way really.
#81 to #58 - Azz (03/08/2013) [-]
We can end them and stop paying them off >.>
User avatar #296 - slowbroking (03/09/2013) [-]
In all seriousness though, I know I might seem a bit crazy but am I the only one who is absolutely terrified by the thought of any country launching a nuke at another country in our lifetime? Whether North Korea has the technology to send one all the way to the US is irrelevant. I mean what if they nuke South Korea or Japan? This kinda stuff just freaks me out. I might not even be making any sense right now.
User avatar #306 to #296 - goodguygary (03/09/2013) [-]
i hope that nuclear weapons remain for show, rather than use. the WW2 nukes are tiny compared to what we have now, and i would rather play fallout, not live it.
User avatar #298 to #296 - izzygirl (03/09/2013) [-]
I'm terrified by it too.
I like for violent history to remain in school textbook. I don't want to experience it in my lifetime.
User avatar #302 to #298 - slowbroking (03/09/2013) [-]
Yeah, thats exactly how I feel. I just didn't wanna seem paranoid or anything.
User avatar #399 to #296 - ludislavonac ONLINE (03/09/2013) [-]
The enemy in a nuclear war is the war itself... yes I'm also concerned with the situation, I thought all this nuclear weapons thing is part of the past, that the cold war is gone, and that big wars today are fought in economic ways, and not with the terrible power of a nuclear warhead
User avatar #181 - Cambro ONLINE (03/09/2013) [-]
"Attention Mr. President, the cease-fire with North Korea has ended. Drop the nuke."

That note accompanied with a fun fact: America and North Korea are still at war, there has never been a treaty.
#190 to #181 - pariahlol (03/09/2013) [-]
another fun fact: We were never at war. Never once was war declared by America, therefore the cease-fire effectively ended our "policing" or whatever you wish to call it.

Why would Kim Slim Jim even want to mess with the US anyway?

pic unrelated
#165 to #159 - pxthreezerothree (03/09/2013) [-]
Because we support S. Korea. And we are technically still at war with N. Korea. And he is insane.
User avatar #167 to #165 - vuican (03/09/2013) [-]
Why makes him honestly think that they could even stand a chance?
#168 to #167 - pxthreezerothree (03/09/2013) [-]
We'll, he's lived a very sheltered life where he has been told that not only is he a great leader (despite never really having lead anything before), but that North Korea is the greatest nation on earth. Couple that with the fact that his generals wouldn't dare contradict him, you've got a recipe for disaster. Also, he is most likely insane as previously stated.
#183 to #168 - moozmax (03/09/2013) [-]
He didn't live a sheltered life. He went to school in switzerland.

I said sheltered, not cloistered. He still grew up believing he was as great leader and that his nation was the greatest on earth. There is no one to tell him any different btw.
User avatar #169 to #168 - vuican (03/09/2013) [-]
And the reason nobody doesn't just quietly assassinate him.....?
#224 to #169 - pxthreezerothree (03/09/2013) [-]
Sticky situation, they still have nuke. The last thing you want in a nuclear armed nation is instability and a motive for revenge.

we're all going to die because you idiots think a nuclear war can be won.
User avatar #347 to #343 - kagji (03/09/2013) [-]
yeah, North Korea will be bankrupt by their third attempt at making a nuke, and they don't have the technology, funds, manpower, or knowledge to make one. they are using decommissioned, cold war missiles, anyway. we could shoot those down within minutes of them being launched
#352 to #347 - Womens Study Major (03/09/2013) [-]
Won't they still go off? It doesn't matter to me if the nukes are crap or not if it goes off "ANYWHERE" we loose, humanity will loose, the earth will loose.
User avatar #355 to #352 - kagji (03/09/2013) [-]
no, nuclear warheads need to be triggered. if they are impact-triggered, then the tip needs to contact with the rest of the warhead intact. if you aim right, no problem. if you aim wrong, the missile is too high for it to be much of an issue except for EMP. however, most nukes are programmed not to detonate until they reach their GPS-designated target
User avatar #356 to #352 - kagji (03/09/2013) [-]
also, there are plenty of places it could detonate with no ramifications. how the hell do you think they test the damn things?

Again with Vietnam... do people not understand that if it weren't for public opinion, we would've won the war. You guys act like every battle was a complete failure when we actually won most of them.

I'm sorry , what?"You people" ?Who might that be?And I don't act like the battles were one way or another , I'm acting like it's a fact that it was one of the bloodiest wars so far and America lost it.Facts.

You people(as in; you dumbasses) are ******* retarded. WW1 was one of the bloodiest wars. Besides, we would've won it if it weren't for those ******* hippies.
User avatar #565 to #563 - warbob ONLINE (03/10/2013) [-]
1) "one of the bloodiest" means there is more than 1 and Vietnam was one of those
2) it was still lost in the end

Facts. The only "retarded dumbasses" here are those who would write an " if" in the history books.

Pretty sure they wouldn't send in ground troops right away..they'd turn half the country into a parking lot first.
#485 - vynillabear (03/09/2013) [-]
alright I have a genuine question. I know I'm probably uninformed but can't we shoot down nukes now? Isn't there that whole Patriot missile interceptor system thing?
User avatar #498 to #485 - UberAndrew (03/09/2013) [-]
I'm fairly sure we can.
I don't think there's too much fear of a nuke actually hitting us.
#519 to #498 - vynillabear (03/09/2013) [-]
yea thats what I assumed, so why do North Korea's nuclear weapons frighten us so much?
User avatar #522 to #519 - UberAndrew (03/09/2013) [-]
In actuality there isn't too much actual fear of a nuclear strike doing us any harm, but it's pretty much guaranteed that there will be war if they attempt a nuke strike, and whether we win or lose war is always messy.
#523 to #522 - vynillabear (03/09/2013) [-]

If NK launches a missile. They'll start a war with the whales and somehow manage to lose.
#242 to #69 - Womens Study Major (03/09/2013) [-]
Even if NK did they wont be able to make them anymore anyway lol the UN sanctioned the **** out of them since his last statement of putting washington dc in a "sea of flames". Also NK is pretty pathetic in military might. In fact the US doesn't even need nukes to **** them over. They could just send regular bombers and they'd be gone. I really think you underestimate US's techonological might power and ******* money put into it is insane compared to any other country lol... NK has disciplined soldiers but um... yea they can't fit a nuke war head on a missile yet let alone produce nukes.
User avatar #148 to #69 - szymonf (03/09/2013) [-]
NK does not have nuclear weapons, yet.
User avatar #131 to #69 - sirbutterballs (03/09/2013) [-]
They have Nukes but we have anti-missile missiles (ironic I know) and NK most likely doesn't have long range missiles.
User avatar #133 to #131 - defender (03/09/2013) [-]
Their longest range missile barely reaches the north part of Australia
User avatar #134 to #133 - sirbutterballs (03/09/2013) [-]
So yeah. We'll be alright.
User avatar #95 to #69 - rafeky ONLINE (03/09/2013) [-]
Well I'm amusing -so i may be wrong- that the US has a state of the art detection thingy that would be able to catch the missile before it made to there.
User avatar #122 to #95 - andriod (03/09/2013) [-]
True. We have the ability to know at any moment when a missile of any kind is launched and can send intercept missiles to match its trajectory.

I believe Israel has the similar technology protecting them as well.
#126 to #122 - rfcoke (03/09/2013) [-]
I think you are talking about the Iron Dome over Israel, right? Destroys most of the missiles coming at them before they get close enough to do damage.
User avatar #549 to #126 - andriod (03/09/2013) [-]
correct. I couldnt remember what they called it. thanks
User avatar #75 to #69 - reddeadtroll (03/08/2013) [-]
Not really, North Korea's Nuclear program is actually kinda pathetic considering the reputation they have.
User avatar #76 to #75 - ninjamyles **User deleted account** (03/08/2013) [-]
oh, well still, any nuclear weapon still has a potential for large scale destruction. and really all it takes is one good/lucky shot on a military base housing a powerful nuclear weapon and you have a giant chain nuclear reaction
User avatar #78 to #76 - reddeadtroll (03/08/2013) [-]
Oh i'm definitely not saying that they're harmless, i'm just saying in comparison with the rest of the world (U.S. included) they don't really have ALL the firepower that they like to pretend they do.
#84 to #78 - thefatmenace (03/08/2013) [-]
The U.S. and South Koreans (I'm not sure who else FOR SURE is watching them) is watching every single inch of North Korea the whole time. If so much as somebody sneezes over the border, we're there to toss over a tissue. They're definently not harmless, but if they ever make a move against us or the South Koreans, then we have the military might to destroy them AND stop the nuke before it even crosses the ocean.
