And this is why on sunday I grew a pair and asked a guy out. He said yes and we had a lovely date yesterday and I am very happy.

Just dont tell you grew a pair, it might make things kinda awkward. Unless your a gay man then by all means go ahead
User avatar #153 to #113 - multimedia (02/14/2013) [-]
Yes, we're both guys.

Why don't people ask there parents to be there valentine? It's one of the nicest things you can do, take them to dinner and treat them to a nice night.
User avatar #99 - richardastley (02/14/2013) [-]
Gee. I've never heard anyone rant like that before!
User avatar #97 - stegosaurusrah (02/14/2013) [-]
"if you approached them instead."

"Well if you guys want to get a girl, then grow some balls and talk to her. Just be yourself. Tell how you feel about her, the worst she can do is say "No". And if that happens, then she is not the one for you and go find someone else. "

Most generic and cliche advise ever....

you say this, but it makes no difference to me, i tried many times before and i got friend zoned, though its rather ironic seeing as i freindzoned people myslef

TODAY I ASKED THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS OUT!!!...she said no...
i grew some balls and i asked her out...and you were actually right.
she did say no,and it wasn't even that bad!...but there is still a problem...i am still alone.
and i am pretty damn sure that if i ask some one els out, there is 88% chance that it will go the same way.
plus i don't really like anyone els but her,SO I GUESS I'M SPENDING V-DAY WITH YOU GUYS :D

"Truth is some guys are to shy to even talk to you."

I'm sorry I like my men to have balls. I'm not saying they have to ask me out, but if they won't even talk to me how the **** would a relationship manage to work?
User avatar #88 to #86 - vilmowd (02/14/2013) [-]
if you don't like them, you don't have to talk to them.
just move along...but if you do like them and they like you too but they are too shy to talk to you then make the first move and trust me by then they will be talking to you all day non stop...i know...i was one of them
User avatar #91 to #88 - ragingflamingos (02/14/2013) [-]
But my point is why would I want to be with someone too scared to talk to me?

I actually did try this once and it was an absolute disaster. The guy was nervous even holding my hand in public ,and refused to voice his opinion about literally anything I suggested we do. It was incredibly awkward and I lost a tremendous amount of respect for him over the course of the relationship.
User avatar #93 to #91 - vilmowd (02/14/2013) [-]
well...what was the reason you liked him in the first place?
User avatar #94 to #93 - ragingflamingos (02/14/2013) [-]
I was a teenager. Not exactly the most rational or experienced human being on the planet. Also I knew he was smarter than me. That's a tremendous turn-on of mine.
User avatar #98 to #94 - vilmowd (02/14/2013) [-]
hmmm..now that we have started this i want to ask you a couple of questions...can i? it's important

Valentines day is just a day to honor love, don't call it insignificant just because people are making it about what it's not.
And by love i mean family, friends, and yes if you have one a significant other.
User avatar #81 - bawsorama (02/14/2013) [-]
dumbest holiday. so you're supposed to dedicate one day to showing how you love that one person? how about you do it every day. not buy gifts every day but like every week go out to a movie or something. for alone people who are complaining about being alone. eat **** and grow a pair
#80 - batwill **User deleted account** (02/14/2013) [-]
Listen, here's my opinion about Valentine's Day as someone who's actually in a relationship: It's really weird that we have a holiday strictly for the practice of celebrating our romantic relationships, when our society already puts so much emphasis on romantic love over any other type of love in the first place. I personally don't care much for the holiday simply because of this reason. However, I will be celebrating it simply because my girlfriend wants to observe it, even though, honestly, it won't be much different than any other date night, but I'm willing to take part for her.

TL;DR: I'm not single today, and I even think this is a dumb holiday.

I know it's my problem, Being stuck at home for 4 Yrs because of surgeries and subsequent laziness derived from bad habits prevents the acquisition of love from a member of the opposite sex

Am I seriously the only person who's single and has no desire whatsoever to be in a relationship?

It's funny because we get these long ass complaints about complaining just as much.
#75 - explosifjosiff (02/14/2013) [-]
I hate when guys complain about being friendzoned, just as much as I hate girls complaining about never finding nice guys. That said it seems to have become more of a joke than anything at this stage.
It seems to me to be something that only happens before a certain degree of emotional maturity is reached. It all comes down to being to shy to go for your crush, or being to shallow to go for a person who you could be very happy with.
User avatar #73 - goochtvi (02/14/2013) [-]
so far i have seen no one complaining. There's the obvious hand joke, and some funny fake cards and poems and **** , but no HURR DUUR TFW NO GF ******** . Not on the front page anyway.
