may I ask, and this can be you own personal opinion, why do people prefer internet explorer over firefox? aside from its the first one they see and cant be bothered to download/learn about other internet programs

First of all, the benchmark was testing performance, not users.

Second, any new pc asks you at first boot what browser you want, so it is not a question of not bothering.

Actually IE is very good now, I still use Chrome because I'm used to it, but in the past 3 years or so IE has worked well for me whenever I've used it.
Maybe it depends on your PC.

You mean apart from old ones? I've seen quite a few cases where IE outperforms Chrome. My point was that browser wars are pointless, I was not defending IE.

Me. Back in my school days we had to use websites which didn't work on Firefox and Chrome. If you don't like it then that's your perfectly okay opinion. I won't lose any sleep over someone who doesn't like IE.

The only reason those things wouldn't work on Firefox and Chrome is because you would be missing some add-on and extension that you need to use the site

That wasn't the reason. The die-hard FF and chrome users in my IT class couldn't find a single way in order for the Cisco software to work properly.

What part of IT class don't you understand? Trust me, if you experience the teacher we had for that class and you do not have much computer knowledge then you are screwed. I was only saying that people shouldn't argue about which browser is better like the way people argue about religion. I don't use IE anymore since Chrome became a better back-up browser.

I haven't used safari very much, but it never seemed really bad...
is there a reason why it's suddenly hated,or is it just because it's made by apple?

It loads pages slowly and sometimes doesn't load some stuff. Sometime, it crashes when I'm loading more than one page. It's also laggy on large pages like wikipedia pages.

Also, on my old mac (from 2007 but only 3 years old), it crashes the whole computer when I'm browsing a few tabs at the same time.

I actually tested safari, (i got a kick where i just wanted to test all the browsers i could get my hands on), i didnt really like it for the same reasons i dont like most other browsers either: Slow startup time, both cold and hot, general slow and long page load time, lack of addons and themes. And like iTunes, i knew that Apple just wouldnt take the time to optimize it properly, it would be another great excuse to call it windows slow. And as of a few months ago, Apple announced that they wouldnt develop or update Safari further than 5.1.7 Welcome exploits and security holes.

TL;DR = I got my reasons why i dislike Safari, not just anti-Apple-ism.

Everyone complaining about Safari being on this list.

Your precious Google Chrome is essentially Safari. Chrome runs on an engine called "Webkit" created by Apple OMG NOOO I SAID IT BUTHUT OMFG I HATE CHROME NOW.

Google Chrome and Safari are the same other than Safari has a visual bookmark and history interface. Chrome lacks user interface in that aspect but it does supports WebGL.

IE runs on Trident which supports NOTHING which is why web developers HATE IE.

Don't hate something because it's made by Apple just to join the bandwagon.

yes, chrome is faster. If your computer is running slower you can totally tell. Chrome also has a larger viewing area for webpages by default. And if you use firefox for adblock; chrome has an adblock extension available in the store.
