That's because at the end of his life he went senile. He thought he could talk to pidgeons, was obsessed with the number 3, and only ate boiled food

Does that mean Half Life 3 was confirmed by him?

I hope you know he was ******* schizophrenic.
User avatar #431 to #346 - heartlessrobot (02/02/2013) [-]
And? So am I. People who are schizophrenic can behave perfectly normal in society.

So was John Nash. Look what he did.

Less common... That's sort of like saying Leukemia was less common before 1845 because it hadn't been discovered.

Inb4 someone makes a post how Tesla is either from Croatia or Serbia and some faggots rage because they think Tesla belongs to their country , not other ones country.
I'm Croatian and I'm getting real of this **** .

Tesla is cool and all, but he claims to have sold his death ray (teleforce) to Russians and tried as hard as he could to sell them to other parts of the world as well, all the way until his death.

The Oatmeal made a comic on this and you have mosty just ripped out the good parts and left all the hate on D/C which is what almost everything in our house is converted to before we use it.

Good guy Telsa was also in favour of most of Funnyjunks gene pool being wiped out through Eugenics.

And I'm in favour of this!

What a coincidence, I held a short speech about him in school yesterday.
User avatar #316 - turboderp (02/02/2013) [-]
You know, he worked on a project to give the entire world free electricity? A tower somewhere in the US would be charged, using the sky as one phase and the ground as another, so you could have towers which could be "pluged" in to the sky, to a device, then back to the earth and it would, in theory, work.. Noone ever got to see it in practise tho, the man who funded it found out he couldn't make money out of it, so he shut down the project..
He accualy managed to light two light bulbs on a stage, without conecting it to anything.

For those who want to read more about this.

ah yes the giant tesla coil, it is a great idea, the only problem is how inefficient it would be.
User avatar #334 to #329 - turboderp (02/02/2013) [-]
Still, pretty ******* awesome ^^ And yes, it wouldn't be effective at all, but if that was normal 100~ years ago, imagine how inproved it could be today.

We have invented so much great the last 10 years, if we countinue to "grown" technologically as fast as we have.. Then imagine 100 years from now. Damn.

He also invented the Tesla coil, like power lines, but better, Thomas Edison stopped him from being successful. Long story. Point is he died at age 76 a virgin.
#323 to #307 - anonymous (02/02/2013) [-]
The tesla coil isn't comparable to power lines. It's a resonant transformer, you still need the power lines if you want that electricity to go anywhere.
