i wouldnt know ive never really watched it. all i know is if you can google it chances are it will turn up on some game show at one point or another. heck even stephen colbert mentioned bronies on the colbert report twice. once to give us a shout out and once to retract the shout out once he learned what a brony is.

Oh, 'cmon. It almost sounds like an ethnicity. Like "Dutchmen" or "Englishmen".

Well, I don't usually hear people adress each other as "brony" either. I know they identify each other that way sometimes, but even "Hey there, brony." sounds just a bit. Not a lot. Just enough to be noticeable.

I get where you're coming from, I just see it a little differently. I wouldn't expect the name to change though. "brony" has been the widely-accepted standard for too long now to be so easily replaced. Apart from that, people generally dislike change. Chances are all but certain.
