I ******* watched this show so much as a kid. I would literaly watch nothing but that. 90's had such great shows for kids. Now we've just got crap. Guess that's why PBS constantly plays the old stuff.

Beautiful animals, except their story is quite sad. If you love these animals don't look up what happens to them.

Slow lorises are going extinct because people are destroying their habitats and poaching them to be sold illegally as pets.

It's so ******* cute, but it's such a terrible idea to own one. The key problem being that slow lorises are nocturnal. One reason why their eyes are so ******* huge. So the indoor lights hurt their eyes. Feel free to read more about how much of a bad idea it is to even buy a slow loris here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_loris#Wildlife_trade

Sadly I feel if these animals are not owned as pets they will not exist much longer. Greed for old growth wood and human expansion will be their demise in the wild.

yeah i agree with you. slow loris IS an animal for sure but i always thought they had dark hair so maybe this is a different breed or just one with light hair.

TL;DR i think you're right

It's actually endangered, so I doubt it would be legal.

Exotic animal ownerships is regulated on the state level so check your state statutes(many can be found online).

You realize that animals don't "enjoy" living out in the wild, right? It's a constant, 24/7 struggle to survive and eat. Captive animals have unlimited food, almost instant medical care, and complete protection from predators. Believe me, animals are ******* ecstatic about captivity.

I don't enjoy living in a polluted, crowded civilization surrounded by idiots, i don't enjoy it here. But i'd rather live where i do than anywhere else because it's what's natural to me.

Take elephants for example, in the wild they have to walk for weeks with little water and no food during the drout and some of them don't make it, but in captivity they get fresh food water and shelter every day, you'd think they'd enjoy it? Nope, because they don't have the freedom to migrate like their instinct is telling them to do, so they go stir crazy. Just like a slow loris would without being able to climb

Yes, I'm not disagreeing that there are inhumane practices afoot. My point was that any animal would rather live in a reasonable captive environment. Reasonable does not include what is done to the lorises. Any animal can be domesticated in a reasonable and safe way; I doubt Lorises need to have their ******* teeth pulled, that's just sick.

Lorises are also nocturnal creatures. Bright lights hurt their eyes. Pretty much every single video/gif ever showing how cute they are in brightly lit areas where the loris's eyes can be hurt.

Although I do agree with you for the most part.

Anyone who loves animals would rather see any of them out in the wild, not just that one.

I think a domestic dog could figure it out.
So long as it wasn't bred for the purse treatment.
