We don't get less intelligent every generation. It irritates me to no end when people are so ignorant. Every single fucking generation has been looked on as retarded by the older one because they bring in new customs and trends that seem silly or stupid to the older generation, who remains obliviously unable to accept that they were just as retarded as the new generation, just in a different way and for different reasons. The world is getting smarter with every generation, and being stupid was never really fatal except back when we had natural enemies.

so true. Social Darwinism has been discredited and a science for years and as a matter of fact stupid people often procreate more making them a more successful "species" as opposed to the more educated.
If the world was getting stupider as time went on there would be no new technology, stop and think.

Wrong. We're getting smarter with each generation, but more ignorant. Oh the irony.

1) That's not how the meme works
2) No. That's not true. We get smarter each generation, because fuckin science keeps discovering new things. It's great. Stupid people have always existed, there's no reason to think that people are getting worse.

I'm so tired of hearing about how my generation are all semi-retarded and that if my parents had just beaten me a little more, I wouldn't have turned out so bad. People have been bitching about the newest generation and claiming their own's superiority since the dawn of man. I bet people in the 1800s used to be all "back in my day, if we had to go somewhere, we walked! Now every kid you see has his own horse. What happened to the good old days?" There really isn't one generation that's better than all the others. My grandparents generation may have been more hard-working than ours, but they were also racist, sexist, and overall intolerant. Every generation has its setbacks. This one happens to be the unusually large supply of idiots.
Well if it's just about intelligence, there is a well known effect called the Flynn effect. It describes that even though psychology defines IQ as a stable trait calculated from the average of the target population, it is still rising steadily with every generation.
That's the beauty of it. Every time they change the norm scale, they have seen a generall increase in IQ making the new norm (100) higher than last years. So, yes, technically 100 is always average, but there is still an inflation in intelligence required to reach 100.

i really dont care about how superior my generation is to yours... hell, im rooting for you guys cuz your generation is inheriting the earth (in a sense). im just sick and fucking tired seeing how much of whinny little bitches you guys are... its like if my generation asked your generation to toss around a football, your generation would be like "ugh... ok, maybe after i fix my chipped nail and detangle my hair and update my twitter account... and then you take a picture holding the ball and posting it on instagram saying that your "hanging wit ma boyz playin tackle football"

quite the contrary, its actually the minority that doesnt act that way... the rest of your generations cries and moans when they get the iphone 4s instead of the 5.... i didnt get an N64 till four years after it came out... and that was my first console ever, i had to trade almost all my pokemon cards and pogs for it

so you're saying that this picture was based off of only a few people?... no, a stereotype exist because of what the majority does, not what the minority does... perfect example: "black people like watermelon" of course not all black people like watermelon, but the majority of them does and by your generation im talking about 00's kids

I agree to some degree, but you must admit that the current generation is much different than the past ones.
True respect is hard to find these days, especially among children.
Gradually more and more has become acceptable that were previously not deemed so. Girls can walk around wearing skirts the size of underwear and a small cloth covering perhaps only from her breasts to the top of her bellybutton. These things have become acceptable and are now considered fairly normal.
Certain moral values have greatly changed in a fairly short time period, and not for the better if you'd ask me.

That's what I've allways thought aswell. THe thing is, you mostly hear of the "smart" and "sucessfull" persons from past generations.. So when you see your own and the next generations, all you hear/see is what you look for; dumness and retardedness.
I'd say our generation is one of the smartest. The world recods for youngest people who does this and this is beaten all the time (for different thins, such as chess, mathemathics, physics, sports etc. etc.) If you single out the smartest/most sucessfull people of our generation and the next, then you'll see it's not that bad at all.

People are getting smarter, and people are getting dumber.
Anyone who says to kill all the idiots has to realize that without the idiots, there are no geniuses.

But... we're getting more intelligent every generation. We just have way, WAY more advanced social media then we used to, so it seems like people do stupid stuff more often, when in reality, people have always done stupid stuff.
If you don't believe me, ask an elderly person for help with your math. They probably didn't even know that letters could be a part of math.

At least from my experience rich people don't have many kids. And, rich people are usually smart. Whereas the poorer people I know have ~2-4 kids and aren't as intelligent.
As for asking an old person about algebra who would remember highschool math that you don't use daily after 50 years?
IMO: average IQ will drop gradually, but we will have a few geniuses still.

well not so much stupidity but general weaknesses like lactose intolerance and allergies that would have been bred out because, well you know, the ones with them would have died before spreading their genes.. the stupidity comes from lack of education and discipline, children need to be put into line. i was punished corporally as a child if i didn't do my chores, acted out or if i didn't do my homework and i've turned out to be a decent hard working contributor of society, if anything it's the laws that we have now days banning parents from hitting their kids if they do something wrong that are the main problem with children being idiotic fools with their swag and yolo shit. if i were to have been like that i'd have had my head slapped and told to button down and do my school work by my step dad, my mother would have had me cleaning all the dishes in the cuboards and cleaning the house by scrubbing the floor, walls and roof or polishing all the shoes and then cutting the edge of the lawn with a pair of scissors or doing push ups, sit ups and running on the treadmill till i almost passed out before sitting me down and making me do my homework and then some.. she used to be a drill sergeant in the air force and knew how to get shit done, she even did room inspections and had us up at the crack of dawn to do what we were supposed to do.. and this was from the age of six

If anything our modern society is an even greater danger to people with serious allergies. As for lactose intolerance it's more of a mild inconvenience for most people and I highly doubt it would have been bred out as well. I agree with the rest of your comment. Raising the next generation is the responsibility of previous ones.

Its called dysgenics if anyone's interested. Sadly it also applies to all physical flaws as well; poor eyesight, weak frame, asthma.
That's not 'natural' selection. It's human selection. We could in theory evolve humans like we did bananas and dogs. All the factors of natural selection have been overwritten by human selection which allows even handicapped people who'd never have survived some hundred years back. We evolve our technology instead, to do all the work for us
Having read some of those labels, I think it's a great thing that it's a special occurrence in the U. S. of fukken A.
In my country, those idiots don't get past early childhood. And this country is rich.
