I've been chewed out by many of my friends for calling it a game...apparently it's offensive to refer to it as anything other than a visual novel...

To that I reply with "I wouldn't have downloaded it if I though it was a book!"

if you do download it, play it the first time through as how you would honestly answer and react if you were in the character you play as' shoes, it'll make you more engaged in the story and not constantly looking up walkthroughs trying not to **** up the ending you are trying to get

You dont get to choose directly, its more like the choices you make direct you more towards someone then eventually you'll be in their arc. Arc 1 (the beginning) is the stage where you choose a girl. Arc 2 + is just playing that girls arc.

I don't either, but I have played one path so far and absolutely loved it. I guess for us we don't treat it as the character being ourselves as you normally would, and just enjoy the story. I still had epic feels throughout Lily's path.

I guess I'll help you out.

First, technically it's a visual novel not a game...but that is a minor detail not part of the explanation

Basically it tells the story of your character, who recently discovered he has a heart condition, and is sent to a special school to those with special needs so he can be monitored in case something goes wrong.

Depending on the few choices you get to make it tells a different story, some are short and leave you feeling "what the **** just happened"ey while others are long and leave you conflicted about your choices.

Depending on the story route and what happens there are a couple of sexual encounters that are described. You can disable those scenes, but doing so causes you to miss out on part of the story.

Now as for the appeal. Mainly it's in how well everything is told and how nice the art and animation is. Which is actually kind of funny because it's a game made by people from 4chan...

anyways you don't have to play it if you don't want to, but if you have some time to spare, the average story takes about 3-5 hours to complete if you are on automatic scrolling so it isn't a huge time consumer, and it's free so you won't have to worry about wasting money or pirating it.

Hope some of this is considered useful I guess.

Think of it as more of a romance novel, but aimed towards... you.

Romance novels have their very in depth sex scenes. This does too. But seeing as it's a visual novel, it happens to show it with pictures.

It is definitely extremely feely, because every girl has their own problems. Some of them you watch overcome those problems, and some of them are inhibited by them. Each has their own personality, and each one can easily strike your interest more than another.

And when the game describes Hisao's (the character you "play" as) towards one of the girls, it does so in a way that makes YOU feel it, as well. You might not truly be in love with the girl you're trying to be with, but you will definitely know how it feels to be in love with them.

Lilly
Emi
Rin
Hanako
Shizune

I did Hanako's path to start, got BAD END, which pissed me off. Not because of getting the bad end, but the bad end itself. Hisao did EVERYTHING wrong, and the final 'choice' at the end was like all of Mass Effect 3 rolled into one click of a mouse. You have the option of either taking Lilly's advice, or ignoring her, and either one you pick, he does the same thing, with NO change of text. ********.

NO! Every fandom that overdoes it deserves to be hated equaly. Furries, anime fans, avatards, brolans, walking dead fans, bronies and so on got their punishment. You're not gonna get away with it's Katawa ******. I DEMAND RETRIBUTION! And yes, I played the goddamn game. Got Hanakos' good ending on my first attempt. It's not even that good of a novel. It just makes you spend so much time with the characters that you can't not get emotionally attached to them. That's the only reason you ****** get such strong feels.

My left testacle could write a better story with better pacing. It shall be called "Atleast we won't spend 30 minutes describing a gate to you" by Arthur P. Scrotum.
