You know what's really hypocritical? The overall ban, tax and general rage on cigarettes, worse being in Australia, I think.

I know there are a lot of you who go "yeah, go smoke, faggot, enjoy your cancer" and "cigarettes are pure poison, herp derp, have some blunt, 420 blaze it faggot!", but let's put it like this:

What's difference between smoking 3 packs of cigarettes in one night and drinking 3 bottles of vodka?...
Simple logic: Cigarettes MAY kill you in 20-30 years of smoking (and I mean 1 pack/day). Alcohol, when abused, can wreck your **** in 1 year.

Just saying.

A political and economic theory of that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated...
(in Marxist theory) A transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.

As long as people are educated about the dangers and the product is non addictive (or at least addiction can be kicked with a reasonable amount of willpower, such as the case with chocolate) no foods should be banned.

Iv been drinking Energy drinks and Soda ever since i was 7... I am healthy and have had no problems. Its mostly if you exercise or sit on your ass. If i ever get diabetes or any health problems im going to blame myself. Im the one choosing to put the **** in my body :|

Sugary drinks such as soda greatly contribute to the obesity epidemic in this country, the absolute ignorance as to what most consumers willingly put into their body is shocking. The fatter the population you have = more people with healthcare problems = a higher rate that people pay on their health insurance premiums, even those who are responsible and demonstrate a healthy lifestyle. You can argue against the effectiveness of the law, but its core objective does have some merit.

bring the red bitches
#61 to #49 - frink (01/27/2013) [-]
By that logic then we should have forced abortions to control the population. Less people means less money having to be spent.
#56 to #49 - anonymous (01/27/2013) [-]
The obesity epidemic is really US-specific and specific to the past 20 years (at the most).
There's no obesity epidemic in Europe nor in any other well-fed part of the world and there's no ban of sodas there.
Also, there was no ban of sodas nor was there a famine in the US prior to the US obesity epidemic.

Bring the Liberal pseudo-intellectuals.

I am utterly stumped by what point you are trying to communicate. Please refine and further polish what your trying to say if you have something intelligent to add. Americans DO have an abnormally high consumption of soft drinks, especially compared to that of Europe, even a quick google search verifies that. (www You need to login to view this link We consume near double the amount of the runner-up, Canada. Your out of your ******* mind if you think that is not indicative of a problem. And your right, there is not a large obesity epidemic in Europe. That's due to a myriad of different factors, one of them certainly being less soda consumption, as evident by the graph.

Americans have developed some of worst eating habits in the world thanks to the new era of high-calorie/low-nutrient foods. Your a moron if you cant see why there needs to be some restraint, because at this present time most Americans do not possess any.

Banning large sodas comes from the same ******* school of thought that wants to ban large magazines in guns. It completely collapses under the slightest bit of critical thinking. When the soda ban goes into effect here in New York I'm just going to buy 2 sodas if I'm really thirsty. When that nutcase shot up Virginia Tech he didn't say "Magazines can only hold 10 bullets, looks like I'm only shooting 10 people" he brought 17 ******* magazines and fired every single one of them anyway. Bans like these accomplish absolutely nothing.
#60 to #48 - frink (01/27/2013) [-]
And I'm pretty sure it would be easy to make your own extended magazine, if one would really want to.

User avatar #36 - Crusader (01/27/2013) [-]
But it doesn't work like that.
Yes, there are SOME that think like that, like there are conservatives that think like that.
But there a lot of Liberals that think there should simply be restrictions.
Like the 42 ounce drinks out there, those are just unhealthy, there is no upside to a 42 ounce coke.
They don't want to ban all of them, they want people to know that there is enough sugar to bake a cake in those drinks.
#42 to #36 - anonymous (01/27/2013) [-]
why do you care what how much sugar i drink. I don't care who you marry or what job you work or what you smoke so what gives you the right to restrict what i drink.
