If gay people got married then by law people would have to consider it a true marriage and grant the gay people the same benefits married straight people have. This is a problem because it goes against a persons freedom of religion if their religion says gay marriages are not true marriages, so if gay marriage was allowed their would sort of be two conflicting points that are both lawfully correct. someone correct me if im wrong

Now, I don't know how conservative folks want to get here, so forgive me if anyone disagrees with this next bit, but both parties in a marriage have to consent in order for it to be legal, and nobody with power to declare two people married is going to interpret "woof woof" as "I do".

I didn't mean that all Christians wanted it that way, but I live in a very small, Baptist-run town. I forget that there's other open-minded people out there. We don't even have alcohol, it's a dry county, and that's also because of Christians.
