Well, I could see the airline companies doing that, but many small time fliers can't afford electronic GPS systems for air use. Most recreational pilots would probably use their phones for navigation. And honestly, planes can be leveled off and trimmed during flight, so there's not much need to pay constant attention 100% of flying time.

I've also heard that there is a .04 BAC limit for pilots. I don't know if I'm ok with my pilots drinking brewskies before they fly. Whether or not this is true idk.

This makes no sense, when you're flying there's probably an autopilot in use except for landing and taking off, and what the hell's going to happen if you're distracted for 2 seconds while answering a text message? You're 30,000 feet in the air, at least 10 miles away from the nearest plane; do the airlines think that cell phones are going to prevent the pilots from successfully dodging birds or something?
