My guess is IF North Korea follows through with the nuclear testing or whatever, we'll rip open their asshole with some nukes of our own. We probably have radiological alarms as well so when the second the launch, we know and destroy it...I hope...

...and if not, its been an honor wasting my life with all of you. See you on the other side.

would destroying it set it off? because if so, it would just be like NK nuked whatever country / island it was over... unless it was over the center of the ocean of course...

if you're asking if destroying a nuke would set it off, then the answer is no. nukes work via complex nuclear fission reactions, which have to be initiated in a very specific way.

There's also the Divine Watchmaker theory, saying he created the universe, but went away and left us to our own devices and our own path.

I am 99% atheist, and the 1% of me that is Agnostic would be "divine watchmaker" I suppose.
I believe that IF there was a God, it is not any God that any religion the world has ever came up with. It simply began the universe and then left, the little details of its creation are of little interest to it.
I prefer to believe the simpler answer though, that there is no God.

I think my belief system is strongly based on the idea that "it's better than nothing." The prospect of simply ceasing to exist after death terrifies me.

the earth being around isnt the problem. you can have a coffee machine thats broken but no matter what it's broken. thats what the earth is going to become. and unlike a coffee machine, you can't just "fix" the damage done to a planet

the earth is fine. the people are ******.

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference?

The planet isn’t going anywhere. WE are! -george ************* carlin

It's kinda arrogant to think we could destroy the Earth. Sure, we could really **** things up and make it unlivable for us, but the Earth will persist. It's been through tougher things than us.

well, that depends on what you consider the "Earth."

take the planet Venus for example: Venus used to be just like the Earth, but due to an excess of CO2, the planet heated up out of control, and no longer has any water, which prevents plate tectonics. without plate tectonics, the built up energy under the surface has to be released via planet-wide volcanism.

if we **** up the atmosphere even just a little bit, we'll set up a chain reaction that will destroy the Earth as we know it. sure, our ball of rock will still float through space in orbit around the Sun, but it won't be what we consider the "Earth"

Actually, by accepting the concept of evolution (in this case evolution of human), you are denying the superiority of the human itself. In the book, it is stated that human were created by God, and the first human is Adam and Eve. But at the same time, there are no indication that the book discussed about other creatures such as animals and plants. If human were created (not through a long evolutionary process from apes), that is just show how special we are. Why human succeeded in evolution, appearing to be superior to the other animals if the principal of evolution works in every way, every creatures in the world throughout time and space? Why human can build such civilization for a long time, very awesome engineering, knowledge, social structure etc. but not the tigers, elephants, even monkeys, orangutans, apes and what is so called ancient ancestors? Religion has the answer for this question. We are special, we are superior, because we are created for purposes. What purpose? It is what we can see today. To explore the knowledges (including science), to understand who we are and why we are here. But as time goes, when human discovered more and more knowledges, human becomes ignorant. This is what happen.
