In physics blue shift is when the light waves from an object moving towards you are compressed, making it appear blue. This is a joke though, because blue shift has only been seen in stars and you would never be able to move fast enough in a car to cause it

Okay... i have never read such retarded comments before this (Colorblind???)... the reason why it would turn blue is because of the doppler effect. It is a joke, it would not really turn blue, however if it was a star or terrestrial object moving away from us, we would percieve it as blue.
